Job Description

Armour Risk Management, Inc. is a growing and dynamic business operating in the global insurance and reinsurance market, focusing on the United States, UK, Continental Europe, and Bermuda.

We operate in the Property & Casualty (P&C) market covering the non-life sector of the insurance market. We currently have offices in the US, Bermuda and the UK including Hamilton, Philadelphia, and London. We have ambitious expansion plans and look to recruit determined and enthusiastic people to our hard-working team.

As the result of recent growth, we are currently seeking a candidate with QA skills and knowledge of latent liability claims (asbestos, environmental, etc.) to work with and support our growing claims team. Past experience in a similar role is essential. The role will be located in our Quincy, MA office, reporting directly to the Claims Manager in charge of our Complex/Latent Claims department. Compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's qualifications.

Position Summary

The Quantitative Analyst will work on a portfolio of business which includes asbestos, environmental pollution, molestation and other product related liabilities. This varied and interesting role will include: providing claim data analysis; compiling insurance coverage charts; claim modelling for long-tail latent disease losses; and the compilation of management information. This is a key role and you will work closely with members of the claims department to assist with projects such as reserving, cash flow assessment, settlement and commutation valuation. A high level of accuracy is essential, along with the ability to produce quality work product for presentation purposes.

Key Tasks & Objectives

  • Support the claims department in compiling and analyzing claim data
  • Compile coverage charts
  • Work with the claims team and actuarial colleagues to build, develop and maintain models for the allocation and projection of long-tail latent liabilities
  • Establish timely reserves and perform ongoing review throughout claims cycle within authority limit by estimating and validating value of claims
  • Assist with reserve, settlement and commutation calculations and allocations
  • Provide clear, concise and accurate management information on a regular and ad-hoc basis as required

Key Technical Skills, Knowledge, Professional Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role within the insurance industry
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Knowledge and experience of claim data analysis and modeling
  • Accurate, reliable, with excellent attention to detail and an analytical approach
  • Production of high-quality written work product essential

  • Able to demonstrate a flexible approach and adapt to changing requirements and priorities
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, and build relationships with colleagues at all levels
  • Self-motivated and willing to learn and take on new tasks as requested
  • High levels of organizational and time management skills
