Key activities / Essential duties and responsibilities Manage and maintain the Bank s Virtualization infrastructure (VMware VSphere, VMware View, LeoStream). (50%) Includes:o Virtualizes WindowsLinux server and workstation builds on all OS platformso administration and support of VMware Data Recoveryo Deploy security patch and upgrade thru VMware Update Managero Monitor, Diagnose and Troubleshoot performance of Virtualization environment using VSphere Center and Windows Perfmon. Design and implement electronic communication (e-mail, fax, and SMS) data retention and retrieval solutions to comply with Compliance requirement. (15%). Project Management of Vmware/Email infrastructure (10%). Includes:o independent analysis of business requirements,o infrastructure design, development and testing,o documentation of processes and procedures,o and making modifications. Consults with the business line to determine requirements for the e-mail architectures. Ensures that the needs for the business lines specifications are met and the systems are in compliance (5%). Interpret and implement management policies and operating practices across multiple domains, DNS, DHCP, and WINS services (10%) Manage the Windows/Intel environment at an enterprise level and support and maintain the Bank Microsoft Active Directory Infrastructure. (5%) Managing, Support and Troubleshoot any issue related to Instant Messaging Infrastructure (includes Facetime, OSC and Grapevine) (5%) Provide technical support on blade systems including Dell, and HP systems. Programs script files that are used to develop and maintain the system (uses Visual Basic, Microsoft Batch Processing) for both internal and external messaging. Analyze system requirements, troubleshoots and makes appropriate modification based on system requirements. Liaise with vendors, evaluates hardware and software and makes recommendations to management. Carry out major assignments such as, upgrades to MS Exchange mail servers, backbones, gateways, and other email and Microsoft Windows NT/2000/2003/2008 related systems. Support and troubleshoot any issues with Symantec Enterprise Vault (includes Compliance and Discovery Accelerator, Automatic Classification Engine and SQL) Utilizes expertise with monitoring tools MOM (Microsoft Operations Manager), Nagios, Solarwinds s Orion, HP InsightManager and WhatsUP Represents the IT organization internally and externally. Provides consultation on matters related to the support of the OI services for all business groups with vendors, service providers, IT, business partners. Provides information and analysis to managers suggesting recommendations and options as an input to decision making. Undertakes analysis, develops recommendations, and provides independent professional guidance and support relating to own specialism to colleagues and customers. Undertakes and co-ordinates small projects, monitoring progress and ensuring end results are delivered. Other Duties as assigned. Key Requirements (education, work experience, further qualifications) Bachelors or equivalent 4 year degree in field related to position. 2 - 5 years work experience in a similar position Experience working within the financial industry, with exposure to technology, business, and third party banking/technology vendors. Relevant experience in Application/System supports a must. Must possess solid and updated technical skills. Worked as an Email Engineer in a key technology supplier or a similar Global Investment Bank. Experience of Project Management within Email Technologies.
