We are looking for a top-notch JavaScript developer with team leadership skills. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring the development and delivery of the web-based trading platform UI, which is based on core technologies like JS and Chromium.The candidate would be responsible for managing, mentoring, and leading a team of JS developers. Therefore, sound technical ability but also great communication skills are essential. The candidate should be driven to develop great products, and understand the critical role of the development team and process within that.Responsibilities:Develop front-end code for our web-based trading platform to a high technical standard, setting an example for other developers.Collaborate closely with backend developers, QA testers, support teams, business teams, and architects to engineer solutions that are performant and maintainable, delivered on time, and fit for the customers needs.Technical leadershipMentor JavaScript developers, conduct code reviews, and ensure standards.Be very hands on, and lead a small team.Knowledge of financial services industry within a fixed-income area (useful, not essential)QualificationsQualifications/Experience:At least 7 years experience developing JavaScript-heavy single page web applications with significant functional complexity.Experience leading and running a small development team.Extensive AngularJS, HTML5 canvas experience, and/or React experience (at least one required).Excellent JS knowledge, including ES6. Knowledge of typed supersets like Flow or TypeScript is a bonus, but not required.Proven technical and people leadership skills.Experience in mentoring developers and that translating to tangible improvements in code quality.Experience in automated testing using JS test libraries and frameworks, including functional and unit tests.Experience in performance testing, writing performant code, optimizing existing code.Strong analytical and communications skillsAbility to multi-task and prioritize competing tasks in a fast moving work environmentEducation: Bachelor's Degree; Masters of Science in Computer Science preferred. - provided by Dice
