POSITION SUMMARY Responsible for the management and execution of Data & Reporting projects as assigned by the IT Sr Manager, Data & Reporting. This includes managing vendor resources to deliver projects, hands-on development when necessary and complex problem solving of issues, ultimately ensuring all applications, reporting, and interfaces are functional. The scope of tools includes (but is not limited to) Power BI, OBIEE, and Oracle & SQL Server databases. This role is critical in enabling Pernod Ricard North America to become a data-driven organization. The successful applicant has keen knowledge of data modelling, reporting UI, and a commitment to learning about new data sources and technology in order to unlock actionable insights. The IT Project Lead, Data & Reporting must be able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Participate with the business and project managers in requirements discussions in order to provide solutions to business needs, while also supplying associated work estimates. Responsible for transforming business requirements documents into technical specifications as needed. Provide the technical interface between project manager and developer resources and provide technical support/assistance to developer resources as needed. Responsible for onboarding new BI partners with appropriate training & mentoring. Responsible for efficient utilization of vendor resources in line with strategic projects. Responsible for architecture of solutions, with input from the extended Data team as well as strategic implementation partners. Ensure testing practices are captured from business and functional IT leads during requirements collection and ensure that thorough testing is performed prior to the launch of any project. Responsible for management of resources in support of functional areas project plans, including resource assignment, scheduling, and tracking against plan. Work together with the IT Sr. Manager, Data & Reporting to manage development & testing activities, shared resources, standards, and meet project deliverables. Responsible for incorporating industry best practices and following internal or group standards when deploying new solutions in the BI or data space. When managing projects, responsible for capturing, organizing, maintaining and approving all project related documentation in co ordinance with IT department s Project Management Methodology (PMM). Advise the IT Solutions Director, BI & Architecture concerning BI & data trends, technical problems, need for equipment, need for upgrades, and priorities in related areas. Attend conferences and user groups to gain experience and insight in related areas. Recommend innovative technology and solutions to address BI & data needs. Responsible for ensuring that proper change control procedures are followed as related to PR Project Management Methodology. Responsible for ensuring that documentation is authored as part of project delivery and that handoff to support team is conducted in a timely and effective manner. KEY COMPETENCIES AND KPIs Education: Bachelor s Degree in the Computer Science field. Experience/ Background: 5-7 years of experience in relational database technologies (Microsoft and/or Oracle) 3-5 years of experience with Power BI 3-5 years of experience with Informatica or other ETL tool 2-3 years managing projects in an IT environment Skills/ Competencies: Strong communicator, capable of working effectively with technical staff, users, and management. Expert knowledge of BI development techniques, specifically on the Power BI platform. Expert knowledge of relational database theory and the logical and physical design of databases. Expert knowledge of data modeling. Strong understanding of ETL tools and techniques, using Informatica or Azure Data Factory. Strong knowledge of systems and business analysis techniques, application design, and development methods. Strong knowledge of Project Management methodologies and understanding of how to turn business requirements into functional and technical specifications. Excellent time management, communications, decision making, presentation, human relations and organization skills. Experience managing remote resources/teams is a plus. Experience with Microsoft Azure technologies is a plus.
