Role Summary
The Sales Strategist drives the development and execution of National Accounts Finalist Meetings that deliver competitively superior profitable growth. Responsibilities are focused on three areas: determining how to compete in a finalist meeting in active partnership with the sales team, driving development of materials and supporting activities that are needed to compete successfully, and building robust plans to get CIGNA's message out to these target audiences and win business. Success is measured by profitable growth relative to plan, timely execution of the client specific plan and managing to budget expectations for all initiatives/projects.

The successful candidate will have the ability to be creative, apply personal initiative in the development of comprehensive, high quality proposals, and manage the flow of incoming work with aggressive deadlines effectively and efficiently. This position is a good match for a candidate who thrives in a team setting and wants to broaden and grow their health care and insurance knowledge. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and internet navigation is desired.

- Accountable for supporting successful execution of business plan and aligning functional partner support requirements
- Manage to budget expectations for all initiatives/projects

LEADERSHIP
- Organize teams, design approach, structure methodology, develop recommendations
- Matrix with larger SP&M, local sales/service colleagues, and functional utility partners to drive execution of business plan
- Share strategic marketing and industry/business knowledge with team
Qualifications
IDEAL CANDIDATES WILL OFFER
- BS degree in Marketing or equivalent field.
- 8+ years experience in strategy consulting in a Sales and/or Marketing environment
- 5+ years experience working in the insurance industry
- Basic data and market research analysis skills
- Market segmentation
- Comfortable working across several engagements at the same time playing support role on one project while leading another
- Ability to manage and lead multiple projects
- Facilitation skills
- Primary and secondary research
- Comfortable developing executive level presentations and supporting delivery
- Experience managing multiple priorities and executing projects within strict timelines, budgets and quality standards
- Oral and written communications
- Experience in producing marketing communications programs across various media is a plus
