Role Summary
Develops database systems that are more complex with full competency. Coordinates with users to determine requirements. Analyzes, designs, creates and implements more complex databases including access methods, device allocations, validation checks, organization and security. Designs more complex data models, logical and physical databases, data dictionaries and schemas. Liaisons with database software vendors and external technical support on issues such as software upgrades, problems and potential solutions. Reviews systems under development and related documentation. May coordinate activities of the project team and assist in monitoring project schedules and costs. Highly skilled. Responsibilities
CIGNA is embarking on a multi year, major upgrade of our financial systems platform. This role performs Oracle Business Suite related application activities. Role provides technical understanding and support for Oracle EBS, OBIEE, PeopleSoft and Hyperion applications. Role involves application installation, configuration, database oversight, testing support, instance copies, patch application and production support. Role also involves assessing needs of database instances, performing cloning, perform configuration changes and monitor the application environments using OAM and other Oracle tools. The role provides support to all our environments ranging from development to Production. Administration of Oracle eBusiness suite version R12, PeopleSoft, OBIEE and Hyperion at varied levels. Once the applications are implemented this role would encompass both production support along with continued development/testing environment support.

Responsibilities

Oracle application DBA / engineer that administers all aspects of Oracle¿s EBS suite including peripheral applications in a Linux environment which may extend to PeopleSoft and OBIEE. Duties will involve installations of Oracle application, Patch applications and application administration using Oracle tools. The live cycle will cover initial development and test builds through Operation Readiness, PVS and into Production. Once in production the responsibilities will extend into production support as well as continuing support of test and development environments.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or higher strongly preferred.

Experience with Oracle R12 eBusiness suite in a Linux OS or similar.
Experience installing and configuring R12 Oracle eBusiness suite or other software packages.
Experience downloading and applying Oracle patches or other software products.
Experience using MOS for problem and patch research or other vender websites.
Experience using OAM or other application administration tools.
Experience in Mid range operating environments Linux, Solaris or AIX.
Strong understanding of operation environments and experience with vendor applications.
Strong verbal and written communication skills (particularly.
