Brand Director - Absolut
Location: Corporate Office - New York, New York
Position Summary: Responsible for strategic brand plan development/implementation, consumer & trade communication, policy compliance, performance tracking including profits, volume, and market share. Also responsible for identifying incremental expansion volume opportunities (e.g. new product development).
Major Responsibilities / Accountabilities:
- Develop and implement the annual operating plan and consumer communication. The consumer communication plan should include but not limited to advertising, event marketing, PR, POS, digital, direct marketing, and detailed measurement. Develop brand budgets and P&L to deliver on marketing plan priorities.
- Develop Strategic Brand Review by analyzing category opportunities, identifying key consumer targets, innovation opportunities, and activation strategies.
- Identify consumer and market insight requirements. Work with relevant business partners to collect and analyze data. Leverage learnings to inform brand strategies.
- Develop and execute effective business strategies. Key business partners include, but not limited to, brand owners, agencies, field marketing, sales and other business departments
- Recruit and develop staff to optimize brand performance and maximize talent, including ongoing performance reviews and identification of development opportunities.
Nature & Scope: Position typically works with members of the central marketing department, divisional marketing, sales management, agency personnel, as well as various vendor and provider representatives. Communication can include sensitive information requiring complete confidentiality and discretion in dealings with contacts. Incumbent plans activities for this position monthly with individual initiative in daily routine. Decisions impact the group and organization as a whole, and errors can cause significant expense to the entire organization.
Key Competencies:
Education: Minimum of Bachelor's degree - preferably in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing; Masters in business or marketing preferred. Proficiency in MS-Office.
Experience / Background: Between 10-12 years business/marketing exp, with 8+ years of brand management exp, preferably with consumer goods company. Beverage Alcohol industry experience a plus.
Required Skills/Competencies: Strong analytical and strategic capabilities with experience in strategy/brand development, including brand positioning and brand building activities, and a proven track record of successful implementation. Strong leadership/management skills. Strong financial / business acumen. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as outstanding aptitude for time management. Thoroughness, creativity, interpersonal awareness, relationship management and influencing skills as well as proficiencies in problem solving, and the ability to multitask are requirements.
Working Conditions: Approximately 25% travel to field locations.
