Overview
Portal Program Management is seeking a driven, results-oriented Program Manager to support the definition of complex business programs, and to direct and ensure the outcome of those programs. This role will manage complex projects and/or support programs impacting business goals and objectives, and lead cross-functional team(s) and subject matter experts in their planning, development, automation, implementation and integration. The Program Manager will work with the team to define priorities and resource allocated to initiatives or programs, and plan and implement schedules and monitor project/program from inception through delivery. He/she will develop and manage communications with cross-functional team members and senior management in Engineering, Information Security, Product Management, User Experience & Design, Global Services & Support, Finance, and may engage and oversee the work of external vendors. This role will maintain awareness of trends, business conditions and internal processes and practices impacting project/program deliverables. The Program Manager will report into the Portal Programs & Operations group and will have visibility across Akamai's senior leadership as he/she reports on the status of the key Products or Strategic Programs in the Portal organization.

Responsibilities
* Drive work with key stakeholders in the Business Units - Platform Division, Information Security Group, Finance, IT, Global Services & Support, and other Akamai organizations
* Document detailed agendas, meeting minutes, and action items from key cross-functional meetings
* Track, follow up on process dependencies and communicate status to upper management and required stakeholders within Akamai
* Identify and manage areas of risk/opportunity, and influence and implement continuous improvements to the process
* Define and report on program development process status, issues and success metrics
* Follow guidance and best practices to effectively drive products or strategic initiatives through the process to successful delivery
* Define and use tools and business systems required to support the process
* Support cross-functional team(s) and subject matter experts with representatives from Engineering, Sales, Global Services & Support, Finance, Operations, and others in the establishment during planning and implementation of multiple projects and/or programs
* Evaluate high-level business problems to identify and execute logical solutions to solve the problems
* Support teams’ work estimation efforts and manage resources accordingly
* Work with Engineering & QA teams on delivering projects and releases for critical business priorities
* Track open actions, key task dates, and dependencies

About the Team
The Akamai Portal organization is a group of industry leading professionals dedicated to owning and driving the innovation of digital media, software delivery, application and site acceleration, enhanced user experience and advertising decision solutions for our customers. Portal Programs & Operations team manages all aspects of the product lifecycle as well as the coordination and delivery of key cross-organizational Strategic Programs. This includes the program definition, prioritization, planning processes, business metrics, and ongoing delivery for these initiatives.

This group focuses on Akamai Control Center, Akamai’s customer-facing portal. It is the critical system that all of our customers interact with to gather traffic analytics, manage configurations, access training and support materials, and view their billing information. As such, it sits squarely in the middle of a sophisticated systems landscape and involves deep and complex integration across the Akamai system portfolio.

Required Education and Experience:
Applicants must meet one of the following education and experience requirements:
* 2 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent

Required Skills
* Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Business Management
* Minimum of 2 years of overall experience
* Minimum of 1 year of experience with Program/Project Management or equivalent experience, ideally in a cross-functional technical delivery capacity

Desired Skills
* Technical understanding of how the internet works
* Experience in working with Software Engineering Teams
* Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills and the ability to work effectively across a wide range of constituencies in a diverse corporate and client environment
* Proven ability to deliver projects on time and on budget while communicating with key senior leaders
* Keen interest in learning new methodologies and willingness to be coached and mentored for senior level engagements
* Knowledge of program and project management principles and practices
* Detail and action-oriented self-starter
* Consulting experience preferred
* PMP certification or Big 5 will be a plus
* Knowledge in business process, operations, and metric definition best practices
* Knowledge in Risk and Issue management and resolution
* Knowledge of high-tech internet industry & technical software implementations
* Knowledge of JIRA, Google Tool suite, and other Program Management tools
