Objective

The responsibility of this position is to manage all aspects of the warehouse operation, including but not limited to: labor, costs, training, logistics, and IT processes. At the ECDC effective management of the warehouse activities is critical to meet Alstom business needs and contract performance requirements.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

This position is a Management position reporting directly to the Site Manager for the ECDC. This position is responsible for the operation of the warehouse and is accountable for all material and activities within the warehouse. Responsible for safe and efficient operations within the warehouse with all activities meeting Alstom AZDP requirements.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:

Alstom Environmental Health and Safety

* Assure that the warehouse and employee activity meet all the Alstom EHS requirements for a safe and productive work environment.
* Responsible for the development and execution of warehouse EHS policies or procedures
* Participate in the EHS Team meetings and ensure warehouse operations meet or exceeds the requirements
* Ensure all contractors that are in the warehouse conform to the Alstom AZDP requirements

Cost Management

* Responsible for the management of both operational costs and inventory cost. Effective use of the inventory cost management system by maintaining accuracy of the cost data for inventory.
* Staffing: responsible for maintaining required staff to perform warehouse operations. This includes hiring and managing team.
* Manage and/or coordinate all warehouse related maintenance, construction, or modifications
* Execute and administer the ECDC inventory cycle count system to assure inventory accuracy targets are achieved.

Supervision

* Responsible for the warehouse material handling team, daily supervision, training, and leadership of team. Responsible for delegation of leadership roles to key supervisor positions as necessary.
* Development of supervision that can handle the daily detailed operations.

General

* Support both existing projects and new projects for warehouse support
* Analysis of project needs and warehouse capacity by evaluation of stock type, quantities, size and packaging for all warehouse activities
* Coordination of local shipments, milk run activities, and other special logistics needs for the time sensitive projects.
* Work with other departments (TWC, Quality, Depots, and Program Management) as required to meet the warehouse and project objectives
* Support Non-Production Orders as required for operation of the ECDC

Educational Requirements

Mandatory: High School Diploma, some advanced education

Desirable : BS degree from accredited university

Experience (Essential Functions)

No less than 5-8 years' experience working in SAP

Working Knowledge of MS Office and Office applications

Experience with Supervision of labor force

Experience with IT, Ethernet., and building IT systems

Working Conditions (Industrial/Environmental)

Warehouse, shop floor, off site locations (rail yards and production facilities), and suppliers.

Travel will be required from time to time, approximately 15% of the time.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business procedures, work instructions, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and instructions. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as weights, volumes, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software; ALPS Human Resource systems; Inventory software; Project Management software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
