Apex Systems in recruiting a Jr. Systems Administrator on behalf of one of our clients in Ewing, NJ. The Jr. Systems Administrator will be responsible for performing daily administration of Windows Servers/Workstations and related network and telephony systems which include OS/software installation, patching and firmware updates, computer/hardware upgrades, monitoring, troubleshooting, account management, file share/group permissions, backups/restores, printer and queue management, performance monitoring and overall efforts to minimize system downtime.

JR. SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR
Preferred candidates should have a strong working knowledge of Windows Server and desktop operating systems, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, WSUS, WDS, Veeam backup systems. In addition, we are a highly virtualized environment; knowledge of VMware VShpere/ESXi troubleshooting and maintenance is a plus. Familiarity with O365/SharePoint is also desirable.
Serve as the primary contact for solving, assigning, and escalating tickets properly to 2nd tier support as needed.
Deploy software, operating systems and updates to computers and servers as necessary.
Manage backup services to ensure that corporate data and systems are recoverable in case of failure.
Maintain and upgrade on-premises and virtualized environments.
Maintain, troubleshoot and repair technical infrastructure including: desktop/laptop hardware, operating systems, applications and office systems.
Resolve technical issues for employees and provide courteous and knowledgeable assistance with questions.
Serve as the first line of support for all user IT support issues and work with hardware and software vendors to provide resolutions.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or relevant work experience is preferred.
- 3-4 year(s) experience in a Windows system administration role or equivalent.
- High-level of self-motivation and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Working knowledge of networking technologies and/or platforms.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication and time management skills.
- Excellent organizational, record-keeping, and documentation skills
- Must be available to occasionally work after hours as necessary.
- Travel will be required.
