  • The role and purpose of the Aquatics Coordinator is to oversee the AISD competetive swim program, the AISD Natatorium, and the AISD Swim Club.

    Minimum Certification/Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Valid Texas Teacher’s Certification
  • Preferred Certified Pool Operator
  • Minimum Experience:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of successful experience as a head swim coach

  • Strong oral and written communication skills with a background in basic computer functions
  • Knowledge of overall operations of the AISD aquatics program and natatorium
  • Ability to organize, manage and make recommendations and evaluations concerning personnel, budget and facilities
  • Strong public relations and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of State, District, UIL, USA Swim and Federal Title XI governing athletics

  • Provide Central Support and leadership focusing on aquatics program for all AISD schools
  • Supervise all AISD swim and dive coaches providing leadership and develop to the coaches and swim program.
  • Develop and manage the AISD swim club, hire coaches, and provide a quality club to enhance swimming at AISD
  • Manage and oversee the AISD natatorium which includes scheduling and coordinating timely maintenance and repairs with Maintenance Department
  • Develop and implement a water safety program in which AISD third or forth grade elementary students will participate
  • Serve as a source of information to the community and district by disseminating positive goals and accomplishments for the AISD aquatics programs.
  • Observe and evaluate the methods and programs of AISD swim coaches at the secondary level
  • Schedule and assist the City of Arlington for the use of the AISD Natatorium
  • Fullfill other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.
