Ascension Medical Group (AMG) was officially launched in July 2015 and includes nearly 7,000 full- time providers, and spans 16 states including the District of Columbia, making AMG one of the largest healthcare provider networks in the United States.

What You Will Do

As the Chief Operating Officer for the Ascension Medical Group Wisconsin, you will have the opportunity to work closely in a dyad partnership with the President, Ascension Medical Group Wisconsin in the successful implementation and execution of strategic goals, oversee clinical activities and improve quality across the organization.


Participates in the development of the organization's vision, policies and short- and long-term objectives.

Develops, implements and monitors operating budgets for areas of responsibility.

Maintains knowledge of industry trends and recommends cost effective and efficient solutions.

Serves as liaison between Board of Directors, executive leadership, management, stakeholders, financial institutions, and regulatory agencies.

Contributes to the development of an integrated system of care and successfully performs the requirements of the position within a matrixed work environment.

Creates a sustainable person-centered culture that assures patients can access the care needed and when they want it.

Develops provider leadership structure aligned with the national Ascension Medical Group structure that brings physician leaders to discuss issues that impact physician practices and barriers to greater alignment of physicians across the care continuum.

Supports multidisciplinary, outcome-driven and accountable approach to providing optimal patient experience and clinical outcomes.

Develops coordinated programs and improved communication vehicles that encourage front-line physician participation, engagement, empowerment and ownership in charting the clinical course and enhancing the reputation and visibility of the local market Health Ministry.

Leads transformation of practices including adoption of information systems and electronic health records that result in efficient workflows while enhancing provider satisfaction and patient experience.

Leads efforts to create a culture of quality and safety consistent with a highly reliable organization.

Leads performance management; cascading performance expectations throughout the medical group in accordance with Ascensions AIM for Excellence.

Enhance the ability of the medical group to better manage care in an increasingly constrained resource environment to ensure exceptional operational outcomes.

Ensures development of physician leaders including development and preparation of the next generation of physician leaders.

Provides ongoing education to medical staff leadership regarding administrative, regulatory and legal issues that surround healthcare reform and the evolving medical crew paradigm at the state and national level.

Provides direct support for local and regional operational directors in the medical group. e@ders

What You Will Need


Master's Level Degree with a graduate degree such as an MBA, MHA, MPH required

Work Experience:

Minimum 10 years of demonstrated outcome-orientated experience accompanied by experience in a multi-facility and/or multi-site care delivery model required.

Experience building bridges between physicians-community and hospital-based, and between physicians and hospitals, with the results measured through clinical excellence, growth, and satisfaction measures of patients, employees and physicians. #le@der2020
