Athene USA has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and proactive Attorney to join our Legal team.


* Provide litigation and regulatory counsel and support to various departments within Athene's business with a focus on operating guideline requirements and New York regulatory requirements including licensing, business line compliance, marketing, sales and administration.
* Represent company in New York industry committees and groups that evaluate legal issues that impact the business.
* Review internal and external communications for compliance with various company operating guidelines.
* Work closely with legal colleagues on issues impacting the business, as well as other strategic and cross-business initiatives impacting the broader enterprise.
* Assist head of litigation with various litigation matters, including routine annuity/interpleader cases, advice to HR, legal hold management and response to subpoenas.
* Provide legal advice on New York requirements for all operations within the company.

Qualifications and Experience:

* 7+ years' legal experience in a reputable law firm and/or insurance legal department environment.
* Law Degree from am ABA approved program and an active New York law license required.
* Self motivated with an ability to work independently and manage multiple projects/priorities in a fast-paced environment.
* Some travel may be required.
* Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
* Ability to communicate complex legal matters with various individuals, including senior management.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and provide quality legal services in a timely manner.
* Experience providing legal advice in connection with customer and/or regulatory inquiries.
* Expertise in New York insurance and financial institution regulations is preferred.
* High degree of professional ethics and integrity.
