Position Overview:. The Chief Risk Officer (CRO) will create, implement, improve, and administer the risk management programs for the Bank. The position will oversee the Bank's risk management activities across the organization, including Compliance, Enterprise, Operational, Technological and Reputation Risk. The position will develop assessments to measure and then mitigate the risk components of the above areas.. The CRO is a strategic thinker, who champions the ERM program, leads the Management ERM Committee and collaborates with individuals throughout the Company to further develop and maintain an effective ERM program and Enterprise Risk Assessment (\"ERA\") process. Together with the Board, Board ERM Committee, and Management ERM Committee, the CRO is responsible for the Company's risk governance, further developing and maintaining a risk aware culture, and implementing risk decision-making into day-to-day operations, consistent with the Company's ERM Program Policy. While the CRO. The CRO plays a key role in promoting an appropriate risk conscious attitude and mindset throughout the Company with the overall objective for effective strategic and capital planning, consistent with the Board's established risk appetite and the Company's Strategic Capital Plan.. Primary Accountabilities:. Actively monitors the risk-taking activities and risk exposure to ensure the Company's risk management policies and strategies are in compliance with applicable regulations, the Company's strategic objectives and the Board of Directors' risk appetite.. Chairs the ERM Committee and continually develops the Company's ERM program including ERM tools, practices and policies to analyze and report enterprise risks and manage risk according to the ERM Program Policy.. Works with senior management in making strategic decisions and planning, seeking to optimize risks in the organization.. Responsible for the leadership, governance and management necessary to identify, evaluate, mitigate and monitor risks throughout the Company. Establishes early warning or trigger system for breaches of the bank's risk appetite or limits. Responsible for all ERM reporting to the Board ERM Committee.. Responsible for the Bank's Compliance activities including Bank Secrecy Act (BSA).. Identifies and coordinates programs and training designed to minimize threats and anticipate threats to the company. Acts as the Company's liaison to regulators.. Responsible for all third party independent reviews of risk, including but not limited to external loan review reports, compliance reports, regulatory examination reports, stress test results and any other reports or information that identifies, measures, monitors or assesses risk.. Influences and, when necessary, challenges material risk decisions. Provides leadership to personnel through effective objective setting, training, delegation, and communication.. Experience and Education:. Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in accounting, business administration, finance or risk management required. Master's Degree preferred.. Minimum 10 years in banking and risk management related experience. Minimum five years' previous bank or thrift senior management (e.g. CFO, COO, CCO) in public company or regulatory experience at the \"Examiner-In-Charge\" level or higher. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:. Strategic thinker. Strong and effective leadership skills. Works collaboratively with others. Excellent oral and written communication skills including facilitation skills. Proficient in a working knowledge of regulations and regulatory guidance impacting the Company.
