Job Summary

Participates in the overall VWR integrations process. Intake & compile requirements, develop solutions based upon input from engineering staff working on project. Maintain overall project & program schedules for integration activities. Develop & maintain budget information for each integration activity. Focused on meeting project commitments, including communication with sponsors, stakeholders, etc. Lead or assist in the planning, implementation, and introduction of projects for new systems and technologies, in the Regional Technology Services area as assigned.


Project Planning: Develops and maintains comprehensive

  • Project plans (develop scope, schedule, risk, issues, budget)
  • Project schedules using work breakdown structures, critical path
  • Resource plans, including roles and responsibilities and both internal and external staffing
  • Communication plan
  • Project Execution

  • Meets project objectives within timeline and budget requirements
  • Utilizes best practices to meet committed dates
  • Manages team resources, external and internal stakeholders and business partners.
  • Controls spend and resource usage per budget.
  • Identifies and resolves conflicts proactively escalate to management appropriately.
  • Tracks and resolves open issues.
  • Provides regular and proactive communication to stakeholders, team members and IS management
  • Project Control

  • Manages scope aggressively
  • Manages change control
  • Tracks resource usage and financial spend and make required adjustments.
  • Understands and follows project accounting rules, (capital and expense).
  • Ensures Corporate Compliance (SOX, PCI, ETC)
  • Reviews and updates risk, quality, communications plans.
  • Conducts regular project team and stakeholder meetings
  • Project Close

  • Conducts administrative and financial closeouts
  • Conducts Lessons Learned
  • Other duties as assigned
  • QUALIFICATIONS (Education/Training, Experience and Certifications)

  • Undergraduate Degree or Equivalent Experience Required
  • PMI Certification (PMP) is a Plus
  • Formal training in Project Management Tools & Methodologies is required
  • 1+ Years demonstrated experience in managing medium to large scale projects
  • 3+ years applicable IS experience
  • KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES (Those necessary to perform the job competently)

  • IS project management skills and experience. Skills and experience commensurate with position
  • Project control methodology. Must be familiar with project control frameworks
  • IS general knowledge and familiarity, infrastructure services being a primary requirement
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Must be able to communicate effectively and concisely to project team members, IS/business management and senior management.
  • Interpersonal skills. Able to manage relationships and deal with conflicts in a professional, objective manner.
  • General business knowledge to be able to effectively manage vendor, contractor and business partner relationships and work. Must understand basic accounting (capitalization vs. expense)
  • Organizational skills. Must be able to manage people, finances, business relationships encompassing a high level of detail.

    Typically works in an office environment with adequate lighting and ventilation and a normal range of temperature and noise level.

    Work assignments are diversified. Examples of past precedent are used to resolve work problems. New alternatives may be developed to resolve problems.

    A frequent volume of work and deadlines impose strain on routine basis.

    Position Involves 10 20% Travel as necessary to support integration activities

    Minimal physical effort is required. Work is mostly sedentary but does require walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting or carrying objects that typically weigh less than 10 lbs.
