Electrical Lab Technician - Tempest

Job Description
BAE is looking for a skilled electrical lab technician to support a customer TEMPEST lab environment.

Must be willing to be submitted for a Top Secret security clearance with polygraph
Job Location: Northern Virginia.
Travel: May include occasional travel (CONUS and OCONUS).

Job tasks and responsibilities will include the following:

-Responsible for executing test plans and priorities in Lab and office environment.
-Performs operational tests on a wide variety of communications, data processing and electronic subassemblies in accordance to Test Plans and standard test procedures.
-Sets up and executes a variety of test stands consisting of multiples of standard test equipment such as receivers, spectrum analyzers, pulse generators, amplifiers, oscilloscopes, voltmeters, counters, etc.
-Works with engineering instructions and standard test procedures to operationally integrate equipment under test as required.
-Deviates from standard test procedures as required to troubleshoot, locate and report non-compliance within the unit requiring application of technical knowledge, skill and ingenuity.
-Assist in the investigation of root cause of product performance and failures.
-Interprets test data and checks results against specifications, test procedures and data sheets to determine proper functioning and quality of product.
-Records test data and submit test failure/acceptance reports and notifies supervisor of unusual conditions or undesirable trends.


Typical Education & Experience
Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 8 years work experience or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education
Education
Degree in Electronic Engineering or
Associate's Degree in Electronic Engineering Technology or
USMIL Electronics A School and advanced training or
High School diploma and at least 8 years equivalent RF and electronics test technician experience

Certification
Preference for active Certified TEMPEST Professional (CTP) certificate.
Individuals will be expected to have the aptitude and pursue CTP certifications within 18 months.

Prior work experience should include the following technical abilities:
  • Electronic Technician experience.
  • Communications Electronics test equipment experience to include spectrum analyzers, RF receivers signal generators, audio/digital oscilloscopes, frequency counters, antenna analyzers, wattmeters and multimeters.
  • Experience with Digital Signal Processing.
  • Experience with analog/digital receiver operation.
  • Knowledge of advanced antenna technologies and performance.
  • Knowledge of, willing to learn and apply criteria outlined in NSTISSAM 1-92
  • Microsoft Office proficient (Word, Outlook, Excel)
