The Business Analyst/Associate is part of a small team that reports to the COO for the Technology, Media & Telecom Group (\"TMT\"). The team's mandate is to provide support to the Group Heads to assist in managing the group, primarily by designing and executing processes and initiatives that drive productivity. Key areas of focus are business strategy and planning, internal financial reporting, competitor benchmarking and analysis, senior management presentations, execution of HR initiatives, systems development and maintenance, and continuous improvement/process re-engineering projects to up-tier the overall performance and productivity of the group.
In addition to day-to-day operational support of TMT, the business management team is involved in periodic projects/initiatives for GCIB senior management.
* Generate weekly, monthly and other regular internal reporting (e.g., financial, pipeline, market fee analysis, banker productivity, etc.) * Assist in the creation and maintenance of presentations for senior management * Maintain and updating data in Navigator (internal financial and client management system) for pipeline, banker dashboards and client planning * Participate in definition, testing and rollout phases for system tools * Assist in marketing and entertainment activities, including managing sports/event ticket requests, conference planning and planning internal team events * Assist in supervisory activities, including systems access reviews * Communicate and build relationships with team members across COO, HR, finance, marketing, compliance, etc. * Field a variety of ad hoc assignments, typically with time constraints
* Ambitious, independent and hard-working candidate with an interest in Financial Services * A Bachelor's degree is required * 2+ years experience, ideally in some financial, operations or general business support role in corporate and investment banking, though lack of specific industry experience is not a barrier to a candidate who proves willing to put in the work and effort to learn quickly * Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint * Strong quantitative/analytical skills coupled with creative, strategic thinking * Ability to communicate effectively upward and downward, both verbally and written * Strong organizational and prioritization skills; ability to handle several projects with aggressive deadlines at once while maintaining the highest attention to detail * Ability to work independently or collaboratively, depending on the task/project * Willingness to work long hours and weekends when necessary
