Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior/Pr. Research Associate to join an exciting, fast growing and well financed new company to develop novel gene editing therapies for serious diseases. The successful candidates will be integral in discovering and developing the next generation of immuno-oncology therapies. The successful candidates will have significant experience in designing and performing experiments in cancer biology or immunology, including cell culture and genetic manipulation of immune cells, and multi-color flow cytometry experience. The position requires enthusiasm, passion, attention to detail, and a desire to create important new medicines for patients.


Responsibilities



  • Perform research with the aims of developing novel immuno-oncology therapeutics (allogeneic CAR-T) using CRISPR-based gene editing tools

  • Conduct time sensitive experiments in context of a therapeutic program

  • Generate, analyze and interpret experimental data and present to key stakeholders

  • Protocol optimization and experimental design

  • Maintain clear and complete records of study material and experimental results

  • Maintain laboratory consumables and materials


  • Minimum Qualifications



  • BS (8+ years) or MS (5+ years) in immunology or cell biology

  • Highly experienced in culture of cell lines or primary immune cells, including T cells

  • Extensive experience in characterizing and analyzing immune cell/subset by multi-color flow cytometry

  • Prior experience in performing functional immune cell assays, including cytotoxicity, proliferation, and cytokine analyses (ELISA, intracellular cytokine detection)

  • Experience with electroporation, as well as experience in viral or non-viral methods of gene transfer techniques,

  • Self-motivated, scientifically rigorous, track record of intellectually challenging oneself to enhance scientific abilities

  • Highly organized with significant attention to detail

  • Excellent organizational skills and oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaborate with peers and effectively work in a results-oriented research team environment


  • Preferred Qualifications



  • 8+ years of working experience in the areas of cellular immunology/cell biology in a biotechnology or pharmaceutical company

  • Prior experience with general immunological and cellular biology techniques (cell culture, tissue culture, flow cytometry-based assays, immunohistochemistry, microscopy electroporation, etc.)

  • Experience with CAR-T

  • Experience in using genetic engineering tools, including CRISPR
