The Pastry Cook/Chef s responsibilities include a rather basic menu upon opening, with opportunity to grow with us, eventually (within three months) preparing quality pastry items such as desserts, breads, creams, simple syrups, amenities, displays/centerpieces and special request items.
The ideal candidate would be someone who would:
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty to a satisfactory standard. Education: certification of culinary training or apprenticeship.
License/Certification: Food handling certificate.
Experience: Preferably have a minimum of 1-2 years of experience as Pastry Cook/Chef in hotels or cafes with similar style and standards, but recent culinary graduate would be considered.
Basic Expectations: Demonstrates adequate pastry skills and operations. Be able to plan and prepare for restaurant, catering and special events. Displays interest in participating in menu planning for dessert items, for bakery, caf , and catering. Hours usually morning to mid-day. Salary open, negotiable for right person.
