DescriptionPositionOverview:The Center for Advanced Energy Studies (CAES) is a research,education, and innovation partnership between Boise State University, IdahoState University, the University of Idaho, the University of Wyoming, and theIdaho National Laboratory. The CAES Business Manager is responsible forperforming coordinated operations and finance-related tasks for CAES facultyand students at Boise State University, in support of the new CAES strategy.?Duties andResponsibilities:? Business Office and Administration
Build and manage an effective business office team including; allocation and delegation of workload responsibilities, providing clear direction and constructive coaching, facilitating conflict resolution, and supporting structural and/or cultural change when appropriate.
Coordinate with university offices and complete university processes such as legal and human resource processes, including but not limited to search & hiring processes, new employee onboarding, performance appraisal, and promotions.
Manage activities associated with public relations and outreach for CAES at Boise State University.
Oversee and track the financial well-being of CAES and support the financial health of its key stakeholders
Ensure financial transactions adhere to state, university, college, and school policies
Develop and manage CAES appropriated budgets, and manage externally sponsored programs from the Department of Energy, Battelle Energy Alliance, and other energy related activities.
Administration, Process Improvement, and ProjectManagement
Support healthy faculty, staff, student, alumni, and philanthropic relationships, by creating a positive human experience
Seek opportunities for CAES to work smarter via new/refined tools and processes that are designed for end users
Integrate disparate pieces of information together from finance, legal, faculty senate, etc. to provide a holistic perspective that informs wise and compassionate decision-making
Maintain mastery of all relevant policies and procedures, and propose changes to them as needed to further support CAES
Function as a project manager when appropriate, working closely with CAES to provide oversight of projects, ensuring key stakeholders are updated and deadlines are met
Create reports and analyze data in the areas of enrollment management, accreditation, program review, and assessments
Associate Director Support
Assist the Boise State CAES Associate Director in the management of relationships with internal/external stakeholders.???
Provide executive assistant support.
Assist in structural, cultural, and financial strategic thinking/activity by helping organize and prioritize commitments
Assist in the management of space and other facilities issues
Bachelor?s degree or equivalent level ofprofessional experience required with a major in accounting or finance preferred.
Master?s degree in a related field
Experience working in higher education is a plus
