Broadway Housing Communities (BHC), a non-profit agency with a 30+ year track record in sponsoring innovative affordable and supportive housing, integrating community-based educational and cultural arts programs, seeks an experienced, dedicated professional for the position of IT Manager. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic leader who will manage all as aspects of IT functions for BHC s operational and program initiatives. BHC has developed over 400 units among seven residential projects targeting formerly homeless and low-income children, families and individuals in the communities of Washington Heights and West Harlem. These properties include large gut rehabs, several 1920 s walk-ups providing single room occupancy units, and a landmarked mansion. Our seventh property, known as the Sugar Hill Project, is a 191,000 square foot multipurpose building providing 124 apartments, an early childhood center, a 17,000 square foot Children s Museum, rental space and underground parking. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the IT Manager will maintain a high standard of quality and ensure regulatory compliance of BHC s IT department. The position requires a commitment to flexibility and ability to cope with several tasks simultaneously, as well as a comfort working with a diverse staff and tenant population. Essential Duties Responsibilities Manages the day-to-day operations of the networked computing resources of BHC and the Museum. Prepares and manages IT budget. Provides hands-on desktop support for office personnel and remote-site staff, troubleshooting systems and applications to identify and resolve operational difficulties. Assigns and manages end user email, intranet and computernetwork accounts, configuring access permissions and rights, and enforcing policies Coordinates the life cycle management process including research, deployment preparation, testing and maintenance of desktoplaptop computers, server hardware, peripheral equipment and software. In partnership with MSP, oversees installation, configuration and maintenance of server systems, personal computers, wireless networking and other related equipment, devices and systems. Manages working relationships with 3rd party communications vendors (Verizon, TWSpectrum, Nextiva) to support internet access and phone communications. Monitors and insures back-up systems are in place and functioning, performs recovery operations Proactively remedies security vulnerabilities, updates firmware and software, and applies security patches to maintain overall health of IT environment. Maintains site license documentation for organization. Preferred Skills Ability to communicate technical information to end users in non-technical language that can be easily understood Excellent interpersonal skills in end user support and peer interactions. Superior desktop support and customer service skills (problem investigation, troubleshooting and resolution). Education andor Experience Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science or a related field is required Minimum 3 years IT system administrationdesktop support experience Expertise in Windows 710, MS Office 20102016 Strong working knowledge of routers, switches and firewalls Strong working knowledge of DNSDCHP services Strong working knowledge of Windows Networking (active directorygroup policies) VMWare experience a plus Salary commensurate with experience.
