Reporting to the Trader, Western Markets, the Energy Scheduling & Trading Analyst is responsible for various ISO bidding and operational functions associated with physical energy flows and optimizations across the WECC markets. This includes coordinating and scheduling physical and financial energy products across CAISO, WECC and SPP. The Analyst will be responsible for physical bid/offer submittal, as well as perform monitoring of energy markets and various front office analyses, evaluations, and reporting.
* Prepare and validate schedules by taking into consideration market information and transmission related constraints; * Submit and validate bids and schedules for all energy related products; * Coordinate and schedule all physical power, ancillary services, capacity, physical transmission with control areas or trading counterparts; * Under the direction of the trader, perform energy optimization; * Keep track of trading positions, both financial and physical; * Assist with the validation of forward pricing, basis, and volatility curves; * Validate key market assumptions with market data and track performance; * Support data aggregation efforts each morning to implement approved trading strategies across the asset fleet; * Conduct ad hoc fundamental and market analysis at the request of the trader; * Help with risk management associated with physical deliveries and transmission across various markets; * Responds to internal requests from other functions for data and analysis.

* Bachelor`s degree in engineering, economics, business, finance, information technology, or other relevant discipline; * Advanced knowledge of MS Excel; * Experience or knowledge of financial analysis;
* Coding ability is an asset; * Knowledge of ISO market rules; * Knowledge of an ETRM system is an asset; * Knowledge of internal and external scheduling systems such as OASIS and OATI is preferred; * Working knowledge of current and pending rules and issues within the administered markets; * Knowledge of electric power generation and transmission systems; * Previous experience in scheduling, real-time trading or operations.
