Position Summary:
The position of Director, Business Development will be responsible for expanding CGI's customer base into new customers. A new customer is company that currently does not do business with CGI's Biopharma organization. The opportunities will be in a defined territory. The successful candidate will be responsible to increase sales revenue by matching CGI capabilities with their Biopharma client's needs.
This position will be mainly servicing Boston and the surrounding areas.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Interface with new clients on a regular basis to identify service growth opportunities.
* Analyze business opportunities and develop strategic plans to drive new business from new Biopharma clients.
* Collaborate actively with operations to meet client needs
* Identify and pursue potential sales targets, determine new qualified leads and achieve bid opportunities from those qualified leads.
* Assume the leading role in strategic planning for penetration and forecasting of new client accounts. Cultivate consistent relationships with qualified leads and focusing on the senior level across key large/mid-sized pharmaceutical companies and CRO accounts.
* Share information obtained from clients, with Business Development and broader Executive Team.
* Partner with Marketing to assist with development of inside sales collateral.
* Schedule Client appointments, visits to CGI facilities, and travel for Client-related meetings as needed.
* Partner with Clients, Operations, Finance, and Marketing to ensure expectations, timelines, and contractual obligations are met.
* Participate in Client meetings, trade shows, and other forums; facilitate presentations communicating CGI scientific and operational capabilities.
* Create, track, and in the company CRO, Zoho.
* Provides leadership, support, and development to direct reports, through coaching, mentorship, and performance management.
* Other duties as may be assigned.
Education & Qualifications:
* BS/BA degree or equivalent (4+ years) relevant sales experience in life sciences, genomics, and/or oncology services. PhD preferred.
* Comprehensive knowledge of genomics and biorepository services.
* Excellent professional communication skills, including verbal, written, and presentation.
* Excellent creative and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to recommend and develop short-term and long-term sales plans.
* Excellent sales orientation, addressing and responding to complex customer concerns, and successfully closing deals. Capable of developing and delivering presentations across all levels of an organization.
* Excellent organization skills, with the ability to multitask and manage time appropriately while handling multiple projects with changing priorities.
* Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills; able to partner with others across the organization at all levels.
* Excellent work ethic; able to work independently as well as within a team.
* Strong computer proficiency with a variety of systems, including MS Office Suite, CRM, and Sales related software.
