The Head, Global Oncology Marketing will report to the SVP US Commercial with accountability also to SVP/GM International. This position offers the opportunity to lead a team responsible for inline and pipeline portfolio marketing strategy for Agios products in all commercial geographies. In this role, you will be an integral member of the Commercial Leadership Team and the cross-functional Global Project Team. You will work closely with key stakeholders including Sales, Global Medical Affairs, Development, Regulatory Affairs, Global Market Access, Market Analytics, Supply Chain and Legal amongst others to develop an aligned global commercial strategy and facilitate execution.. The right candidate for this role will manage a team accountable to:. Lead development of customer and market insights via advisory boards and market research to determine opportunities and areas for growth in the target disease areas. Create clear, actionable strategies that capitalize on opportunities as part of the annual strategic and tactical planning process. Provide appropriate Commercial support for all early development oncology pipeline programs. Collaborate with Market Analytics to develop annual analytics and performance management plan. Align relevant stakeholders with brand strategies. Manage all aspects of strategic planning process, including identification of key issues, development of strategic solutions and appropriate tactical responses. Lead KOL advocacy development and speakers bureau. Collaborate with Commercial Operations, Market Analytics and Finance to establish marketing budget and forecast.. Coach and develop direct reports and others across the organization. Addresses senior management requests (e.g., earnings calls, functional overviews, budget changes). Provide input into the annual lifecycle plan for the relevant programs ensure integration of the life cycle plan into the brand plan. Collaborate with heads of US and International Commercial teams to identify requirements for and build the ex-US/global marketing function. This position will have significant responsibility and visibility within the commercial and broader organization. Thus, excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a matrixed environment are essential.. The candidate must have:. A solid understanding of the oncology marketplace. Proven experience working on strategy development for a marketed or soon to be marketed brand (preferred). Direct global marketing experience or experience as a member of a global project team with global marketing accountability (preferred). Strong analytical skills, including previous experience working with forecasts and analyzing market research results. Demonstrated experience in the development and execution of marketing programs. Excellent communication skills, including experience presenting to senior level management. Strong leadership skills and experience managing cross-functional teams. Previous experiencing managing others or strong evidence demonstrating the ability to do so successfully. Requirements. 7-10 years related experience in the pharma/biotech industry. 5-7 years pharma/biotech marketing experience. Oncology experience preferred. Sales experience strongly preferred. Demonstrated ability to successfully manage or coach others. Excellent organizational and influence skills. Ability to learn technical data and articulate clinical messages to internal and external customers as they align to brand objectives.
