Summary Conducts machine setup, troubleshooting, repairs and preventive maintenance service. Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesUnder limited supervision, performs mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of production machinery, punch presses, saws, shears, press brakes, welding power units, feeders, decoilers, etc. Operate all of the above in order to detect problems or malfunctionsRead schematic drawings (hydraulic, electrical, etc.)Redesigns electrical/mechanical systems for incorporation into existing equipmentAssists in design and development of new equipment or systems for new or improved processesPerform all other duties as assigned or neededQualification RequirementsMustbe familiar with OSHA regulations and how they pertain to equipment and processesMust be able to repair hydraulic equipmentMust be able to troubleshoot and repair production machinery such as hydraulic/mechanical power presses, saws, shears, press brakes, welding power units, feeders, de-coilers, etc.Should be able to repair overhead cranes (brakes adjustments, contract repairs, etc.)Should be able to read schematic drawings (hydraulic, electrical, etc.). Should have PLC programming experienceShould have all tools for this positionEducation / ExperienceHigh school education or general education degree (GED); some college and/or certificationsAt least5 years experience as a maintenance mechanic in a manufacturing facilityReasoning AbilityAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructionsAbility to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situationsPhysical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
