**Job Title:** EOC Academic Advisor - Bronx Educational Opportunity Center **Job ID:** 21286 **Location:** Bronx Community College **Full/Part Time:** Full-Time **Regular/Temporary:** Regular **POSITION DETAILS** The EOC Academic Advisor will report to the Associate Director of Student Affairs and assist in developing and administering a program to increase retention and completion of student enrollment in academic and vocational programs at the Bronx Educational Opportunity Center (EOC). The EOC Academic Advisor will work with students both individually and in groups. S/he will be responsible for maintaining the records for the students enrolled, providing relevant support at internal meetings, and external conferences and presentations, as necessary. **QUALIFICATIONS** Bachelor's degree required. The Bronx EOC is looking for applicants, preferably, with experience in higher education counseling, workforce development, or related field. Knowledge of academic healthcare, vocational programs, financial aid and higher education opportunities in the New York metropolitan area with specific experience with diverse, urban populations is a plus. **CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW** Provides academic advisement and planning services to a diverse student population within an Educational Opportunity Center (EOC). - Assists students with clarifying values and goals, discussing educational options, requirements, policies and procedures; offers academic and personal support - Provides effective and timely referrals to other support services - Monitors and evaluates student progress - Establishes and maintains student files, databases and records; prepares activity reports and analyses - May specialize in providing advice on specific programs or to specific student groups - Performs related duties as assigned. **CUNY TITLE** EOC Assistant to HEO **FLSA** Exempt **COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS** $39,282 - $71,268; Salary commensurate with education and experience.
