Job Description
The Regional Operations Manager is responsible for managing and acting as a primary point of contact for key relationships within a region, which includes clinician and facility relationships. The ROM reports to and works in conjunction with the COO to plan and manage regional matters with a primary goal of obtaining targets for; clinician productivity, utilization and retention; and facility contracts (maintaining current business, signing new business, and managing under-performing facilities and measured by referral volumes and caseload ratio).

Territory includes Iowa/South Dakota/Wisconsin/Minnesota

Responsibilities as follows:

New Business Development/Regional Planning-
  • Responsible for helping to establish and achieving regional goals related to new development and maintenance of current business
  • Monitors KPIs for the area
  • Develops new business by creating a marketing strategy and by building up new facility contracts, as well as expanding scope and depth of services in existing accounts.
  • Develops plan to manage and improve under-performing facilities from a focus of maximizing limited clinician resources, i.e., deploying clinicians where they can be most effective.
  • Networks within long-term care, mental health facilities, and local associations which generate business for the company.
  • Participates in the recruiting of new providers and in the on-boarding at assigned facilities
Customer Focused Activities:
  • Provide customer service to existing facility accounts
  • Provides complete customer service to the active facilities: routinely interacts and visits each facility, establishes relationships with key stakeholders, and identifies service opportunities and/or addresses concerns immediately.
  • Provides field support to clinicians: manages facility assignments and relationships, ensures referrals and related process run as designed, monitors activity to ensure facility needs are being addressed.
  • Conducts activity to grow facility caseloads, expand (or protect) services, and generally ensure smoothly running day-to-day
  • Receive and respond to calls from client facilities staff and families, triage/problem-solve any issues
  • Interface with the administrator, director of nursing services and the director of social services at our client facilities on an ongoing basis to ensure client satisfaction
  • Respond to urgent calls from the facility and facilitate problem solving
  • Coordinate delivery of in-service education programs at client facilities
  • Attend medical staff meetings and other pertinent facility function.
Clinical Leadership Support Activities:
  • Communicate and enforce company policies within the region
  • Defer to clinical leadership to address clinical related concerns that may arise
  • Coordinate efforts to provide team building and support for Deer Oaks clinicians
  • Attend related functions or conference calls to respond to administrative concerns
  • Assist with scheduling of clinicians at client facilities as needed. Familiarity with the assignment of clinicians to facilities is an important component
  • Assist with hiring, orientation and identifying the needs for ongoing supervision to clinicians providing psychiatric and psychological services. The clinical manager will take on these efforts
  • Assign new clinicians to client facilities and ensure their proper orientation, coordinate decision making with regional clinical manager for the area.
Corporate to Field Communication:
  • Communicate openly with Executive Management regarding significant issues/concerns
  • Collaborate with Executive Management on reviewing, revising and developing new contracts with facilities and professionals
  • Perform duties as senior manager in a manner that exemplifies solid leadership skills, ethical practices, and supports the mission and directives of Deer Oaks
  • Work in collaboration with the Clinical Manager to speak with facility about staffing related changes to include scheduling and staff departure
Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years experience in a long-term care setting
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Organized with good attention to detail
  • Either two years of business experience or two years of college work.
  • Leadership - Demonstrates ability to lead people and get results through others.
  • Management- Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
  • Financial Knowledge- Demonstrates ability to read and understand financial statements as well as a general understanding of basic financial principles.
  • Personnel and Human Resources - Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, labor relations and negotiation, and personnel information systems.
  • Critical Thinking - Uses logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  • Complex Problem Solving - Identifies complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Excellent interpersonal and Communication skills Speaks to others to convey information effectively.
