Internship Eligibility:

* Must be enrolled in a college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program
* Must be at least 18 years of age
* Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
* Must possess unrestricted work authorization

Program Dates: The length of this internship is approximately 12 weeks, and the approximate dates are June 3 - August 23, 2019. Interns will work 40 hours per week and need to provide full availability throughout the internship.

Housing & Transportation: This internship is located in New York, NY. Participants on this internship must provide their own housing and transportation to/from work.

Responsibilities

The Vertical Solutions Intern will help in the development of category-specific expertise derived from industry and trade press, investor reports, company websites/social handles, as well as applicable conferences and events. They will systematically capture relevant news and share insights gleaned to both assist sales efforts and facilitate customer conversations.

They will access and interpret data from a variety of syndicated and proprietary media research sources including audience rating reports, consumer product usage databases, advertiser expenditure data, social media, and ad effectiveness data to understand patterns/trends across the category. The Vertical Solutions Intern will aid in gathering their findings into custom reports to help stakeholders see the story in the data. Examples include competitive reporting and ad spend forecasting.

The Vertical Solutions Intern will work cross-functionally with teams ranging from Data Analytics and Research to Sales Operations and Communications in order to contribute to the crafting of high-value deliverables, e.g. category-relevant audience segment profiles and a library of best practices that can be leveraged for repeat and future use. Audience segment profiles will be comprised of consumer demographics, psychographics, media consumption behaviors, and interaction with the Walt Disney Company's content, products and services to paint the picture of who they are and how they are engaged with The Walt Disney Company, e.g. Millennials, Affluents, etc. Best practice \"one-sheets\" will require similar cross-functional collaboration to analyze historical activity and results to be distilled and packaged into easy-to-digest recommendations.

Lastly, they will aid in ad hoc projects and assist in overall group coordination.

A Day in the Life:

* Gather category-specific information for analysis into insightful, coherent, and evolving materials for use by Sales vertical teams
* Facilitate department expertise in respective verticals by surfacing news and emerging trends
* Leveraging DAS and company-wide syndicated and proprietary research, as well as publicly available sources, to enhance the understanding of current and future drivers within product and service categories of importance to DAS
