VCI Process Improvement Specialist

Role Summary:

Assist business units to achieve success by increasing productivity, reducing costs, and improving processes for the goal of increasing internal and external customer satisfaction. Focus on identifying and removing process inefficiencies using key Continuous Improvement tools and a defined methodology for solving problems down to root cause. As a change agent, support the business units by engaging employees in process improvement which will ultimately increase engagement and ensure ownership and sustainability of improvement initiatives.
Role Responsibilities:
Work closely with Senior Manager, Process & Quality Management to deploy Lean Six Sigma across organization and within assigned area of focus.
Lead the completion of process improvement/redesign projects across functions and departments with quantifiable results.
Coordinate resources assigned to projects and ensure timely completion of deliverables throughout all phases.
Facilitate Kaizen and other quick improvement events.
Evaluate and provide recommendations on process improvement and control tools to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of business services and to sustain improved performance.
Understand and apply data gathering techniques and documentation.
Develop and maintain improvement tracking and reporting to quantify contributions to overall company financial and process performance.
Act as a source of process expertise for direction, training and guidance for less experienced staff.
Disseminate process improvement methodologies and toolkits throughout the organization via formal and informal training and community of practice leadership.
Champion Lean Six Sigma thinking and principles throughout the organization.
Advocate and demonstrate the benefits of applying Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to achieving business objectives and financial performance targets.

Skills Required:
Ability to collect and analyze data, implement and validate solutions that eliminate the root cause of process problems
Ability to recommend alternative solutions and translate complex concepts into simplified and understandable examples
Ability to work across all levels to lead and influence key stakeholders
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to interact professionally with a diverse group executives, managers, and subject matter experts
Desire to learn new skills, tools and techniques
Energetic self-starter with strong leadership skills
Ability to deliver on commitments
Ability to understand customer needs and be an advocate for the customer
Self-motivated, have initiative, and have a positive personality
Demonstrated performance as a change agent
Experience Required:

At least 5 years continuous improvement experience in DMAIC, DFSS, Kaizen or other relevant methodologies
Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt
Mastery of the 7 Types of Wastes, how to measure them and how to control them
Mastery of Lean in Transactional Environments

Desired:
ASQ Certification
PMP Certification

Education:

Required: Bachelor's degree (BA, BS) in business/finance, engineering, or related field that includes an emphasis on quantitative process performance and data analytics

Desired: MBA

Work Flexibility:

Travel within the United States (15%)
