Description

The Facilities Manager will oversee all building and grounds maintenance for our company. They will be responsible for ensuring the facilities are safe, up to code, and fully operational. The Facilities Manager will also be responsible for managing contractors, training new employees, and working with third party vendors.

Facilities Manager Duties and Responsibilities

Planning building maintenance and operational programs

Managing all vendor contracts

Ensuring efficiency of all building systems

Coordinating site safety programs

Preparing operating reports and budgets

Maintaining a safe work environment for all employees

Ensuring all processes and compliance programs are met

Managing facilities planning and space allocation

Preparing cost estimates for moves and equipment

Coordinating with department heads and building contractors

Managing maintenance of grounds

Ensuring all utility systems are inspected and in accordance with regulations

Negotiating bids and contracts for third party workers

Coordinating building security and maintenance services

Managing and supervising allfacilities personnel

Overseeing all building functions

Coordinating all maintenance issues and schedules

Preparing and filing reports with government and regulatory authorities including environmental permitting

Facilities Manager Skills

Follows all company policies and procedures

Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently

Eager to expand company with new sales, clients, and territories

Goal-oriented, organized team player

Encouraging to team and staff; able to mentor and lead

Self-motivated and self-directed

Experienced at compiling and following strict budgets

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Qualifications

Education/Experience Requirements

Bachelors degree in engineering, facilities management, business management or related field preferred.

Certification in facilities management a plus.

Previous experience in maintenance supervision or related field, preferably in Education (schools) environment

Computer skills; may include scheduling with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software

Must pass a drug screen and a criminal background check

Physical Requirements

Ability to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift up to 25 to 30 pounds
