As a Virtual Technology Specialist, this employee will perform a variety of tasks to develop, maintain and improve the online curriculum. These tasks include managing the development and documentation of online environments and content, uploading of content to the system, the supplementation of content with media elements, the editing and upgrading of material and the migration of content between servers.
Manage the media pertaining to online courses
Create media pertaining to online courses
Manage the development of media content, including the selection of software and equipment, oversight of the development process, and approval process of final media content prior to upload
Manage and Meta tag modular course content
Upload of the lessons, assessments, and other content to the content delivery system
Edit and revise media pertaining to online courses
Documentation and Quality Assurance of virtual products and systems
Perform any additional duties deemed necessary by the Virtual Technology Manager, Online Curriculum.
Internal: It is important that the individual establish relationships with the other departments of EdisonLearning. For example, the individual will need to work closely with Client Services to ensure that the needs of the students are met and with Engineering to find efficient ways to implement any modifications to the curriculum and students tools. Also, the individual will need to build relationships with the EdisonLearning teams responsible for piloting and implementing the curriculum into client schools.
External: The online curriculum department enlists outside vendors to provide content, expert review and media components on an as needed basis. It is important that the individual acts professionally and makes their needs clear and unambiguous when using these outside resources.

Support the curriculum department personnel on daily tasks, projects and communications to other departments, schools and outside vendors.
Implement planned revisions and outside recommendations to the content of the courses.
Locate and add appropriate supplemental material to the courses (images, documents, animations, etc) that will engage students in their learning.
Manage small groups to ensure that sub-projects stay on track and are accomplished with quality and efficiency. This includes:
Determining the goals and outcomes of the task. Planning the timeline and benchmarks of the task. Communicating the process to the group that will complete the task. Implementing the plan and monitoring its progress. Reporting problems and progress to the department supervisors. Problem-solving to accomplish the overall goals of the task.
Possess the ability to multitask and complete multiple projects simultaneously
Work independently as well as in a collaborative group to fulfill project requirements and meet project deadlines
Bachelors Degree in IT related field or 2 yr degree and 5 years of experience
Familiar with Scrum/Agile frameworks and workflow.
Experience in digital media: design, layout, audio and video production.
Knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite: Acrobat, Dreamweaver, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Premier, Microsoft Office, Google Docs, HTML
