Role Overview
The Associate Information Security Engineer implements and maintains CDW's Information Security technical controls in accordance with the corporate information security program. The Associate Engineer's primary responsibility is first level support for security events and incidents, resolving or escalating as necessary. The Associate Information Security Engineer assists with the identification, evaluation, selection, design, implementation and optimization of new CDW Information Security initiatives.

Key Areas of Responsibility
  • Develop, implement and maintain the information security safeguards and measures to enforce CDW information security policies, standards, and procedures
  • Consult with internal business partners to identify security requirements and implement necessary security controls
  • Provide approximately 80% Information Security operational support with 20% dedicated to projects
  • Provide level 1 support for Information Security
  • Participate in information security incident response
  • Participate in weeklong 24/7 on-call support rotation and off hours or weekends as needed
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and vendors
  • Minimal travel

Required Qualifications
  • A minimum of 2 years information security experience or security related workstation, server, network or application development experience.
  • Understanding of basic information security concepts
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with team members and stakeholders
  • Basic knowledge of TCP/IP applications and protocols, Microsoft Windows and popular Linux platforms
  • Basic understanding of the deployment and maintenance of information security tools
  • Basic knowledge of router, switch and wireless operations, firewall operations and encryption methodologies, intrusion detection/prevention systems and network traffic analysis

Preferred Qualifications
  • CompTIA Security+ and/or Network+ Certifications, GSEC, GCIH
  • Experience in any of the following areas: Security Monitoring, Incident Handling, Packet Analysis, Web Filtering, Anti-Virus, Data Loss Prevention, IDS/IPS, Firewall, Vulnerability Scanning, Analysis and Management, Vendor/Product Evaluation, Digital Forensics
