The Facilities Manager (Night Supervisor) is responsible for ensuring a clean, safe, and healthy environment exists for scholars, employees, and visitors. This position manages and oversees the security, cleaning, maintenance, repair, storage, and operation needs across all facilities during evening hours.

  • Manage repair, maintenance, renovation and construction projects across all facilities in New York and Connecticut.
  • Identify, assess and prepare short term and long term capital expense needs and projects at locations.
  • Manage and oversee daily activities of maintenance technicians and external contractors.
  • Ensure that building and premises, including sidewalks, driveways, and play areas are neat and clean at all times.
  • Monitors heat ventilation air conditioning (HVAC), electrical, plumbing, roofing, flooring, doors, fire safety, elevators, and all mechanical equipment to insure safe, efficient and economical usage of fuel, water, and electricity.
  • Calculate and compare cost for goods and services to maximize cost-effectiveness.
  • Monitor building security and safety, cleaning and waste disposal.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and industry codes.
  • Interact daily and effectively with Director of Facilities, Sr. Director of Operations, School Leaders and staff to address any facilities related issues.
  • Manage and review service contracts to make ensure facility management needs are being met.
  • Generate and present regular reports and reviews of facility related budgets, finances, contracts, expenditures and purchases.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years prior facilities operation experience, preferably in maintenance or construction.
  • Demonstrated experience with maintenance and repair work, tools, and work materials required.
  • Good organization skills and the ability to multi task and follow through numerous projects until completion required.
  • Knowledge of building safety and fire response and prevention protocols required.
  • Prior experience managing a team required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills required.
  • Ability to monitor, maintain, track supplies, invoices, and work schedules required.
  • Knowledge of databases and spreadsheet software including but not limited to Word, Excel and Outlook required.
  • Must have transportation and valid driver s license required.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds required.
