Ferguson is currently seeking the right individual to fill an immediate need for an Area Counter Sales Manager to cover the Northern California Market. This role is remote, but candidates must be located in a home office within the Northern, CA area. **Responsibilities:** **Sales and Business Development** + Develop profitable business with new and existing customers, building customer rapport to drive sales through our tool & safety and counter sales business. + Work with sales team to establish key customer targets to "Take the counter to the customer." + Prepare sales forecasts and budgets. + Monitor sales performance, sales volume, revenues and costs against forecasts. + Monitor and help maintain adequate inventory levels at the counters to promote sales while being cognizant of working capital goals. + Work closely with Prospector Sales, Branch Managers and Area Managers to further encourage the growth of unattached customers. + Work with the pricing team to fine tune counter pricing strategies, limit manual pricing utilization and help identify market pricing opportunities and knowledge. + Leverage existing relationships in the market to add top line profitable sales. + Establish consistent communication pattern with outside and inside sales teams regarding new products, counter promotions and sales opportunities. + Establish consistent communication pattern with counter owners to review sales performance and labor leverage. **Marketing** + Help integrate our E-Business solutions by leveraging "buy online, pick up in store". + Monitor, analyze, and evaluate market trends, consumer behavior, and competitor activity to identify market opportunities for the product/service. + Monitor, analyze, and evaluate product performance and customer feedback to generate new product ideas, identify product/service features that need to be changed to meet customer needs. + Help integrate our E-Business solutions by leveraging "buy online, pick up in store". + Liaise with other areas of the organization to implement these changes. + Liaise with advertising and promotions specialists to design effective and appropriate sales campaigns and sales collateral for the product/service for the target audience. + Work with local vendors and reps to help drive their products with promotional opportunities or events. **Customer Service** + Develop and maintain a Ferguson Experience that is consistent across the business unit. + Create, execute and maintain merchandising strategies for our counter products in each branch. + Hold counter associates and owners accountable for mandatory monthly product training. + Work with the training team to help develop and execute targeted training across the district on a consistent and ongoing basis. + Leverage training and resources to instill a culture of world class customer service on all of our counters. + Work with the training department to establish an efficient and effective onboarding process for any new associates that come to our counter. + Work with management to set performance goals and standards for our counter associates and ensure accurate and productive feedback loops are established to promote associate growth. **Technical & Professional Skills** + 7+ year of sales experience within the Waterworks/Tool Safety space is highly desired. + Ability to travel within the District as needed to support sales and customer service goals. + Ability to effectively communicate both in writing and verbally. + Ability to develop and deliver effective presentations to groups. + Ability to lead and motivate individuals and teams that may not report to you. + Knowledge of Microsoft Office Software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). + Ability to learn and effectively utilize Ferguson's inventory and logistics systems. **Benefits** Ferguson is dedicated to providing meaningful benefits programs and products to our associates and their families-geared toward benefits, wellness, financial protection and retirement savings.
