PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

Provides services such as data integration, enterprise reporting and production support. Responsible for the design, development, testing and implementation of reports. Developers analyze,design, code, test, and implement systematic solutions to meet customer requirements.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyzes the business needs, defines the detailed requirements and presents a recommended solution to the customer.

  • Analyzes, designs, codes, tests, and implements application enhancements, as well as provides general production support, meets defined scope, target dates, and budgets with minimal or no defects.
  • Designs enterprise and departmental Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing and Reporting solutions as per the needs of the business.
  • Utilizes and participates in the full system development cycle.
  • Works with users to gather, refine, and document report requirements with regard to new development, enhancements, or modification of existing functionality.
  • Ensures that users know what information is available to them and that they utilize that information in a manner that benefits the company
  • Creates and units test reports for new and existing BI systems this includes the implementation of any ad-hoc reporting tool solutions.
  • A seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of area of specialization; resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways.

  • Provides assistance to junior level staff with more complex tasks that require a higher level of understanding of functions.

  • Escalates issues to supervisor/manager for resolution, as deemed necessary.

  • Mentors other staff as applicable.

  • Reviews and complies with the Code of Business Conduct and all applicable company policies and procedures, local, state and federal laws and regulations.

  • Assists with various projects as assigned by a direct supervisor.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • EDUCATION AND REQUIRED CREDENTIALS:

    Bachelors Degree; Advanced Degree preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience

    EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS :

  • 8 12 years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience developing detailed design specifications, policies/procedures.
  • Experience in a Healthcare Information Services support and/or development environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.
  • Self-starter with strong analytical and problem-solving skills who is willing to take ownership of issues and see them through to resolution with little or no supervision.
  • Business process knowledge in multiple business process area desired, especially around healthcare vertical.
  • Experiences with at least 6 large full life cycle BI projects.
  • Experience with interacting directly with the business stakeholders and users to present project status, address architectural topics and participate in resolution of project risks and issues.
  • Experience assessing impact of change requests against resources requirements, time constraints, version and release control and functionality.
  • Process oriented.
  • Proven ability to mentor junior developers
  • Ability to prioritize/self-manage.
  • Ability to identify alternative approaches/solutions to risks and issues.
  • Knowledge of reporting, data analysis and forecasting algorithms.
  • Experience in environments with continuous integration, automated testing and agile software development a plus.
