Job Summary:

G&C Fab-Con is a government construction contractor that primarily works with the US Department of Veterans Affairs and the Army Corps of Engineers on projects throughout the continental United States. The company is seeking a new Chief Financial Officer to lead a team of associates in the performance of all accounting, financial reporting, corporate finance and financial planning functions.



The Senior PM will set deadlines, assign responsibilities, and monitor progress and projects costs. This individual will communicate directly with Project Managers and Superintendents concerning project activities, budgets, staffing, quality control, scheduling, and implementation of project milestones and goals. The Senior PM will represent the company at regular project status meetings with owners and engineers and take appropriate actions to solve problems. While this position will be based out of Flemington NJ, travel will be up to 25% for the year to various project sites across the United States.

Position Responsibilities:




??????? Study, evaluate and identify all task and risks associated with new project bidding and proposal generation.



??????? Assist company executives and work with other Senior Project Managers and administrative staff to prepare technical proposals and cost estimates in response to federal solicitations and new project opportunities.



??????? Help establish project objectives, procedures, and performance standards within boundaries of company policies and contract specifications.



??????? Work with Project Managers and superintendents to plan, organize and direct construction activities for multiple projects.



??????? Establish professional relationships with project stakeholders and A/E representatives to facilitate project activities and successful project completion.



??????? Oversee budgets and CPM schedules for assigned projects and work with Project Managers to keep projects on track.



??????? Work with Project Managers and Superintendents to solve issues, conflicts with schedule, RFI?s, contract changes and subcontractor performance.



??????? Visit project sites monthly to assess project status and performance of company staff and subcontractors.



??????? Work with on-site Quality Control Managers and the company?s National Director of Quality Control to ensure projects adhere to contract specifications and resolve conflicts between plans, specifications, and on-site conditions appropriately.



??????? Work with CPM consultants and Project Managers to update monthly schedules and identify critical paths and activities needed to complete projects on time.



??????? Oversee monthly pay applications preparation and approval with government Resident Engineers.



??????? Assist Project Managers with potential safety concerns at project sites and implement corrective measures.



??????? Formulate project status reports and brief company executives and other Senior Project Managers at regular management meetings.





  • Must be proficient in MS Outlook, Word, Excel and Microsoft Project.

  • BS or MS degree in Engineering or Construction Management.

  • 10 - 15 years as Project Manager or Senior Project Manager for projects exceeding $10 million.

  • Detail knowledge of both site and vertical construction means and methods.

  • Mastered ability to review and understand federal contract documents, plans, specifications and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).

  • Experience with both Design / Build and Bid / Build construction projects.

  • Knowledge of ProCore a plus.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of company information and must be able to work independently with minimum supervision and exercise sound independent judgment.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Excellent project management and employee relations skills.

  • Must provide job references.
