ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced, bilingual sales engineer with a strong background in software development who is excited to take our model for digital transformation to Japan. As a Japan Sales Engineer, you will work closely with our partners in Japan and our sales team to design and sell complex software development projects to leading enterprise clients in Japan and the US.

Gigster's Sales Engineers are a critical part of our success. They are attentive and customer-focused sales people who work with prospective clients and our sales team early in the selling process to gain a thorough understanding of client needs and their competitive marketplace, and design and present solutions that can transform the client's business. They are also technical project experts with a deep understanding of what is required to deliver complex software projects and the ability to build a project plan that will allow us to confidently deliver breakthrough innovations on time and under budget - while delighting our customers at every stage.

Our Japan Sales Engineer will bring strong experience and a passion for bridging cultural differences between the US and Japan. You will also have bilingual fluency in Japanese and English, and prior sales or project management experience delivering complex software projects on behalf of Japanese enterprise clients. You will have strong enterprise sales experience and a deep knowledge of the technical skills involved in creating transformative software, including AI, Machine Learning and Computer Vision. You should be a great people person and have an innate ability to build strong relationships with our strategic partners, our enterprise clients, our talent network and our internal stakeholders. You will also be responsible for developing the playbook for enterprise customer success in Japan at Gigster.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Work with our internal and partner's sales teams to develop and sell enterprise class digital transformation projects in Japan and the US.

Work closely with our internal and partner teams and potential customers to fully understand client needs and market conditions.

Prepare and deliver technical presentations that effectively articulate the unique value of Gigster services and solutions to our partners and prospective clients.

Travel to Japan as necessary, and be available during some Japanese working hours.

Secure technical wins by differentiating Gigster and our partners against the competition, handling technical objections and mitigating any concerns that might block a deal from closing.

Support sales and marketing at field events with demonstrations and technical subject matter expertise.

Understand and speak to trends in startups and technology.

Build relationships by serving as a technical liaison between Gigster, our Japanese partner, the network, and our customers.

Educate a variety of audiences on both technical and functional concepts.

Document and communicate feedback and new requirements from the field, and help to adapt our solutions to the Japanese market.

Work with the Fulfillment, Product, and Engineering teams to implement solutions that improve the overall Gigster experience over time.

QUALIFICATIONS

Fluency in spoken and written Japanese and English.

5-7+ years relevant experience in a technical enterprise sales role.

Demonstrated ability to work with Japanese clients, employees and freelancers.

Self-motivated with the desire to learn and become an expert on our sales process for enterprise businesses across any sales channel in the services industry.

Excellent presentation skills and the ability to drive discussions for both small and large groups within organizations in English and Japanese.

Technically adept in Machine Learning (ML) development and various coding languages (php, ruby, java, etc.)

Excellent communication skills with the ability to fluidly translate complex technology concepts.

You have a proven track record in helping to close large, complex deals.

Track record of consistently excellent customer satisfaction.

Passion for contributing new ideas to a quickly growing team and challenging the status quo.

B.S. in Engineering / Computer Science or a related field is strongly preferred
