The VP, Medical Director has overall accountability for the medical/scientific aspects of the finished programs/deliverables of this HCP AOR. They ensure the medical/scientific credibility input for existing accounts, projects, and new business proposals. They serve as a content consultant for Account, Planning, and Creative. The position is client-facing.. Provide and Set Standards for Scientific Acumen. Provides content expertise for assigned agency brands. Familiarizes himself/herself with product strategic plans. Educates agency teams on science and clinical content of materials. Attends planning and start-up meetings to offer scientific and medical strategic input. Helps define content of promotional materials. Helps to direct messages and content flow. Reviews content from medical/scientific/strategic perspective. Assures message accuracy. Assures message consistency. Presents to clients and potential clients, as needed. Client Relations. Ensures well-rounded quality support of client businesses (medically accurate, strategic, engaging, visually appealing). Develops and maintains relationships with selected clients (especially on the medical side) on said brands, and earns trust and respect of client counterparts. Effectively represents scientific work to clients. Positions agency at its best with clients. Agency Operations. Collaborates well with different agency departments. Ensures coverage for all assigned brands. Ensures compliance with agency expectations for standard documentation. Performance Standards. Demonstrates in depth knowledge and continually maintains/strengthens understanding of brands and businesses. Expresses strong industry knowledge and, ideally, some medical education acumen. Generates results through effective written and oral communications. Exercises sound judgment. Uses excellent interpersonal and listening skills. Manages time effectively. Demonstrates solid, professional work ethic. Demonstrates passion for the brands and programs. Follows up to ensure goals are met through encouragement and constructive feedback and provides direction when needed. Displays professional conduct in alignment with agency values. Experience. Excellent oral and written communication skills and adept at the art of persuasion. Strong presence with ability to participate in a group of strong individuals. Strong analytical skills. Good organizational skills. Understanding of marketing principles. 5 years or more of relevant industry experience with at least 3 years pharmaceutical advertising AOR experience.
