A key element of delivering our vision is acquiring HVAC, plumbing and electrical businesses across North America. The Business Development Director will deliver these acquisitions into the HomeServe family. The role will grow and manage a pipeline of opportunities, spearheading the process from relationship development through diligence and negotiations. This position is a great opportunity to be part of an important strategic initiative.
This role reports to the SVP, HVAC & Strategic Initiatives. Deliver the budgeted number of US HVAC acquisitions. Lead prospects through the M&A lifecycle including concept exploration, opportunity demonstration, due diligence, and contract negotiations. Evaluate suitability of prospects based on pre-determined acquisition criteria. Identify and build strong rapport with key decision makers/business owners. Travel to prospect locations, developing long-term relationships with key staff at various levels during the sales process. Partner with finance team to review and evaluate financial models. Shepherd deals through the internal approval process. Develop and deliver comprehensive presentations to prospects, internal partners and executive team members. Work cross-functionally with HR, operations, finance, IT, marketing, and legal to develop and execute diligence for pipeline targets. Contribute to the development and delivery of operational plans to align with business needs. Provide post agreement support on implementation matters. Participate in target industry associations, meetings and other networking opportunities Conduct post-mortems on acquisition execution.
Qualifications Bachelor s degree in business or related field Previous M&A experience or family owned business Experience and understanding of financial modeling, including P&L, balance sheets, cash flow, NPV and IRR Adept at influencing owners Excellent verbal and written communication skills Able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic and growth-oriented organization Effective at managing shifting priorities Stellar presentation skills Able to comply with 40 60 % business travel Location: Flexible throughout the Eastern US
