Position Summary Provides quality nursing care through the application of the nursing process using evidence based practice focusing on excellent outcomes and patient experience within the framework of Shared Governance. # Primary Position Responsibilities Facilitate and Coordinate Total Patient Care Documentation of Care Maintain Professional Development Education of patient and family Patient Advocate Maintain Patient Safety # Work Contact Group (Internal/External) HMC employees, Providers, Patients and Family, Visitors # Vendors # Reporting Relationships Reports to (position): Nurse Director Supervises (position(s): Indirect supervision of Patient Care Assistant, Patient Care Technician, Nurse Intern, Unit Coordinator, Patient Safety Assistant, Transport # Qualifications Minimum Education: Required: All hires after July 2012 are required to have a Bachelor#s Degree in Nursing. OR if Associates Degree or Diploma, RN must provide proof of enrollment in a BSN program prior to hire and complete program within 5 years of date of hire. Minimum Years of Experience (Amount, Type and Variation): Required: One year#previous acute care Emergency Department nursing experience. License, Registry or Certification: Required: Current NJ RN licensure. Certifications in American Heart Association CPR, ACLS upon hire. PALS or ENPC, CPI training within 6 months of hire, education provided by HMC. Preferred: Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) or other related specialty certification. Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities: Required: Complete Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation upon hire. Stroke training 8 hours per year, Sexual Assault and Trauma training is required within 1 year of hire. Preferred: Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) is recommended.
