Clinical Leader Job Description POSITION SUMMARY The Registered Nurse, as an Expert practitioner of Nursing, provides nursing care to patients with multiple and complex health care needs. He/she demonstrates the ability to communicate clearly with staff and leadership, collaborate with all members of the healthcare team and delegate clinical care as appropriate. The position requires a minimum of 40 hours a week. ACCOUNTABILITY Reports to the Nurse Manager QUALIFICATIONS 1. Current RN licensure in Massachusetts. 2. Minimum 5 years clinical practice as an RN, with at least 3 years in a comparable clinical environment. 3. BSN or current certification in area of specialty. 4. Current ACLS certification required. RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Maintains confidentiality of patient information. 2. Demonstrates knowledge of and advocacy for patient rights. 3. Serves as a role model in demonstrating courtesy, tact, and professional behavior in relationships with patients, families, visitors, peers, and others. 4. Complies with personnel policies/guidelines, including mandatory education requirements. 5. Participates in activities related to the development of leadership skills through meetings, conferences and other planned activities. 6. Demonstrates flexibility in collaborative efforts with other managers in response to meeting the needs of the hospital population. SELF-DEVELOPMENT 1. Identifies advanced nursing skills and implements a plan for skill acquisition to improve nursing practice. 2. Identifies, evaluates and fulfills professional goals yearly. 3. Displays ability to accept and respond appropriately to recommendations for change. 4. Seeks additional educational opportunities in relevant clinical areas.
