Duties: Work closely with stakeholders including front offline traders, middle office, product controllers, and quantitative researchers and document functional requirements and architect solutions. Ensure the team is constantly updating confluence/documents as functionality keeps changing over time. Ensure team adheres to best practices and maintains good code quality by conducting code reviews. Review project requirements and assign tasks based on individual strengths, skill sets and experience levels of the developers. Program testable code to address business requirements. Responsible for end-to-end ownership of project delivery by coordinating with upstream and downstream system owners to ensure all the systems are functioning according to standard. Monitor project status and escalate risks and issues promptly to senior technology management and stakeholders. Design, develop, and implement solutions to mitigate risks and issues. Responsible for release management by ensuring all the code is tested, test evidence is documented, and Change request (ITSM) is created and approvals are obtained in time for production release. Collaborate with Operate teams to ensure deployment is successful. Ensure all the change owners complete their validation post release. Respond and look into all production issues, ad-hoc user questions, and requests. Minimum education and experience required: This position requires a Master's degree in Information Systems Management, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related field of study plus two (2) years of experience in the job offered or two (2) years of experience as an Application Developer, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of experience in lieu of a Master?s degree and two (2) years of experience. Skills Required: This position requires two (2) years of experience with the following: Java and Python applications in financial and risk areas within a financial services organization; Unix, PL, and SQL technologies; capital markets and OTC derivatives; Futures and Options securities; Financial mathematics; Risk Management and risk metrics including risk exposure, simulation methodology, and capital requirements; Translating business requirements into functional technology requirements; Software development methodologies including SDLC, Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall; and collaborating with front office traders, controllers, and quantitative research teams to translate business requirements into functional technology requirements and to provide support during the UAT testing phase; and end-to-end ownership of project deliveries.by Jobble
