This is a global business and we follow our US Federal clients all over the globe supporting their mission and delivering sustainable/high performance solutions. #biaffederalPosition Summary:This Federal Design PM position with a focus on Federal facilities and infrastructure projects manages building and infrastructure projects consisting of multi-discipline teams of employees in design including: Architectural, MEP, Structural, and Civil. The position reports directly to the Director of Project Management and requires a level of technical expertise commensurate with experience and relative to the specific scope of the project. The position will also work with and in support to Sr. Project Managers and Project Management Principals. Project scope may include, but is not limited to, corporate buildings, laboratory facilities, headquarters & administrative buildings, military housing, aircraft hangars, vehicle maintenance, aviation related facilities, mission support and mission critical facilities. Projects may be located worldwide with a focus on DoD projects in the Middle East and Europe. Travel in support of project execution is required and typically involves short to moderate fly-in/fly-out trips; however, extended or long-term assignments on travel is not anticipated. Understanding and/or having prior experience with the federal government planning and programming process is desired. Experience with and/or understanding the life cycle of facilities and infrastructure projects, to include planning and programming, concept development, design, development of construction documents, and bid and construction phase services. Understanding of DoD processes and procedures related to Installation Development Plans, Area Development Plans, programming documents (DD Form 1391s), Installation Design Guides, Facility Use Studies, and related plans and studies. In particular, understanding the process to validate a project for the appropriate scope, how to manage the development of the cost estimate with limited information, and how to develop the documentation needed to support congressional authorization and appropriation is desired. Experience with and/or understanding and applying applicable design standards (e.g., UFCs), to include incorporating host nation code and criteria, and adhering to host nation requirements for construction permitting is desired. Experience with and/or understanding bid and construction phase services, to include responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, preparing construction amendments, and observing construction for conformance to construction documents is desired.•Responsible for delivering projects on time, within construction budget and agreed scope. Primary focus is design deliverables for design-bid-build projects (plans, specifications, design analysis), design-build RFP documents, engineering studies, feasibility reports and other engineering requirements for large and/or multiple Corporate and/or US Federal (focus is DoD) projects. Experience with Design for Design-Build is a plus.•Responsible for construction phase services as required by the scope of work. This typically includes services performed in office environment such as coordinating Jacobs’ responses to RFIs, shop drawing reviews, construction modification documents and site assistance visits. •Leads project teams in the development of project documents by providing overall direction to the design team, coordination with external project stakeholders, internal team members and subcontractors, and management of project schedule to meet deliverable milestones and commitments. Serves as the primary point of contact with the client. Provides effective, skilled project management to help reduce the costs of delivering projects and adding value to the business by applying proven project management techniques.•Supports Sr. Project Managers and Project Management Principals on larger projects and programs by providing support to preparing project documents, coordinating project team activities, coordinating with external project stakeholders, internal team members and subcontractors, and assisting with other project management activities to ensure projects are delivered successfully.•Responsible for the overall quality of the project documents and adherence with Jacobs Quality Program. Manages and enhances project quality by providing ideas and suggestions to the team aimed at improving the effectiveness of their role, and of the project activities in general.•Assesses project requirements, while developing and recommending a sound approach or application to meet the needs of the project and client. Responsible for developing project fee proposals and coordinating with discipline leads and other stakeholders for input. Participates in fee negotiations with the client.•Facilitates the creation of communication plans, ensuring that appropriate information is exchanged among key stakeholders, and conducts status review meetings among project team members and clients.•Determines, monitors and reviews internal costs, operational budgets, schedules and staffing requirements for project teams.#biaffederal

Qualifications

equirements:•Minimum 2 years of experience as a Project Manager in an Architectural or Engineering organization, with demonstrated experience within Federal and/or DOD markets and demonstrated experience with facilities and infrastructure type projects. Experience with projects in the Middle East is desired.•Minimum of 10 years of overall experience in a project related technical field.•Strong working knowledge (commensurate with years of experience) of pre-design and pre-construction, contract management, project delivery methods, building systems/components and technology, team building and client relationship building.•Professional Degree in Architecture (Bachelor or Master of Architecture) or Bachelor of Engineering.•Professional Registered Architect (RA) or Engineer (PE). •Project Management Professional (PMP) is desired.
