RESPONSIBILITIES Kforce has a client seeking a Senior Linux Systems Administrator in New York, NY who will be responsible for infrastructure and application support in a 247 SaaS environment. This position includes integrating with RD DevOps and demonstrating proactive approach in maintaining and monitoring the company's production environments. Within this role the candidate will architect, design, install, configure and optimize enterprise computer systems and networks in a Linux based environment. Responsibilities Routine systems admin functions to maintain customer-facing servers Recommend, design and implement systems management and automation systems Design, configure and tune high availability Linux systems Assist in implementing, executing, maintaining, and documenting proper DR and BC procedures Participate in product deployments, upgrades and maintenance Maintain the patch levels of all OS and application patches on all systems using automated systems Manage technical projects ensuring best-practices, quality of work and meeting of deadlines Install, configure and manage network routers, switches, load balancers, firewalls, IPS, VPN, console servers, and other network device network administration Assist with management of virtualization environment Storage management REQUIREMENTS 5+ years of Linux system administration experience (RHELCENTOS) 5+ years of production SaaSonline environment + Amazon cloud and data centers experience 2+ years of experience as DevOps Virtualization experience - VMware Experience with automationconfiguration management - Puppet, Chef Strong grasp of web technologies and architectural principles necessary for designing scalable, extensible and maintainable web applications and services Strong scripting skills with experience in Perl, Python, Bash or other scripting languages DB - MySQL, Oracle, CouchBase (advantage - Redis, MongoDB) Strong Linux security skillsexperience Strong network skills and familiarity with firewalls and network security - Juniper SRX, Juniper Cisco switches, F5 load balancers Performance monitoring - AppDynamics, Icinga, Syslog (graylog, Logstash) Storage Experience - EMCNetApp Working with RD - Jenkins, TeamCity, SVN, Git (source control) Working in an agile environment Good knowledge of the internet - TCPIP, CDN's, DNS, WebLogic, Tomcat Excellent oral and written communication skills Strong organizational and analytical skills Dependable and reliable Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects with minimal supervision Methodical and disciplined approach to problem solving Ability to be on-call 24x7 Kforce is an Equal OpportunityAffirmative Action Employer.
