**The Role**



The Compliance Specialist will provide compliance support for topics that have direct impact on the company's day-to-day operations. Responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and summarizing legislative and regulatory activities applicable to absence and accommodation services products and providing support to legal and compliance absence team's inquiry tracking initiative.



**Responsibilities**



+ Assist with the tracking, analysis and communication of pertinent federal and/or state enacted legislation and/or adopted regulations as they related to administration of absence and accommodation services products.

+ Responsible for tracking and assigning requests for Legal/Compliance guidance from product, claims, account management and legal partners.

+ Develop and prepare talking points on legislative issues impacting our customers.

+ Establish relationships with internal and external partners to foster a culture of compliance, focusing on absence and accommodation services.

+ Assist with the creation of policies and procedures related to compliance topics that impact the company's operations.

+ Assist with serving as a subject matter expert and primary resource for organization readiness for regulatory changes related to new and existing leave laws.

+ Develop and identify process improvements for assigned area of responsibility.

+ Participate in working groups across business functions to implement newly enacted state programs and/or updates to existing programs.

+ Identify and communicate risks to management.

+ Ability to use sound judgment and discretion regarding confidential information.



**Education**



+ 4 Year Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience (Minimum Required)



**Experience**



+ 1 to 3+ years of experience that aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position

+ Critical ability to coordinate and balance multiple projects in a time-sensitive environment, under pressure, and meeting deadlines

+ Demonstrates excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and multi-task while maintaining strict attention to detail

+ Understanding of the importance of compliance with state and federal regulations and guidelines

+ Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative style

+ Demonstrates the ability and eagerness to develop new areas of expertise

+ Complies with all company and site policies and procedures

+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

+ Demonstrates ability to performs other duties as required
