Louis Berger, a WSP company, is currently looking to expand its Civil/Highway Engineering group within its Transportation Division nationwide, and is seeking a Civil/Highway Engineer to add to its Exton, Camp Hill, or Philadelphia, PA office. The Civil/Highway Engineer will have the opportunity to support both local and national key projects, working collaboratively with other engineers on projects with the State DOTs, regional and local agencies. In addition to managing the engineering of highway design projects and overseeing junior-level engineers, designers and CADD staff in the preparation of calculations, plans, specifications, cost estimates, technical reports, and public presentations, the Civil/Highway Engineer will be responsible for the following:
Assist with civil/highway, drainage/stormwater, utility and traffic engineering designs of transportation networks and systems infrastructure.
Apply civil engineering techniques and processes to identify improvements for various project phases involving transportation engineering works including concept development, preliminary design, final design, procurement, construction and operation.
Obtain project data and information concerning transportation engineering works and requirements including drawings, specifications, project cost information, etc.
Oversee and assist in the preparation of reports documenting all findings, conclusions and recommendations resulting from the analysis.
Perform all other duties that may be requested by the Transportation Engineering Department Manager.
The successful candidate will have the following:
B. S. in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
3 to 8 years of experience in highway engineering.
Pennsylvania Professional Engineer License or ability to obtain a PE in one year.
Experience with developing designs for PennDOT and PTC or linear development projects.
Experience with Microstation, Inroads and/or AutoCAD CAD.
Excellent interpersonal skills, team work, and communication skills, both written and verbal (English).
Master s Degree.
Microsoft Scheduler or Primavera experience.
Experience with other regional, county, and municipal agencies.
