The Sr Director, Digital Portfolio Planning & Execution is accountable for business modeling of digital initiatives, sound execution of portfolio programs, and value capture (of top and bottom line growth) for the enterprise. Central to this work is developing, accelerating, and operating our new digital portfolio. This position will bring best practices to the diligence, build-out and operation of the portfolio, quickening its implementation through governance, market analysis, patent extraction, data identification and budget and program oversight.. Closely tied to the digital strategy, this position will work across organizations at MNK, as well as externally with key partners and advisors, to ensure timely program execution and differential value. This position will collaborate with leadership in Digital Analytics and Insights, S&T and Commercial IT as well as the leaders of other departments and teams who are contributing to the digital agenda. The ideal candidate is passionate about digital, has experience in cultivating external partnerships with academia and industry, has done extensive work in due diligence and business case development of external opportunities, has created a digital agenda and capability, and has strong fiduciary and portfolio management skills. Must have a broad understanding of the healthcare industry, particular depth in the life sciences industry, and most importantly, a strong passion to accelerate the impact of digital on patient's lives.. Essential Functions. Lead the Digital Program Governance by facilitating the operation of the Digital Acceleration Office. Ensure that there is a strong link between governance, strategy and programs priorities.. Lead the establishment of Best Practices for Business Case Development and Investment Opportunity Evaluation applying these practices to the digital portfolio.. Model scenarios and alternative business models for digital programs.. Lead the execution of the digital strategy by building a cohesive digital portfolio across MNK.. Define the value mechanisms for digital and be accountable that the total portfolio is delivering differential value and is tied to the digital strategy.. Establish the portfolio capabilities required to successfully define and execute the new digital portfolio.. Establish and manage criteria for digital program participation.. Be accountable for the >10M spend on digital.. Establish mechanisms for securing and stewarding budget for digital programs.. Track the execution of each program providing consistency and transparency.. Identify potential strategic partnership opportunities (public, private, academic).. Lead the analysis, due diligence and market research for emerging technologies and companies.. Lead the creation and maintenance of market landscapes using primary and secondary research to identify digital data sources and partnership opportunities.. Lead the efforts in securing Intellectual Property ensuring progress inclusive of resources needed and legal engagement.. Minimum Requirements. Education / Experience / Skills:. BA/BS degree required (Engineering, statistics, or related qualitative field preferred); Master's, MBA or other advanced degree in business, finance, data science, or similar field is highly preferred. 7+ years of relevant experience including significant experience in project leadership with capital or technical programs and 3+ years building digital assets in a pharma or biotech company.. Track record of applying due diligence, developing business cases and cultivating external partnerships with academia and industry.. Experience in developing a digital agenda and capability, and strong fiduciary and portfolio management skills.. Direct experience with life sciences data, appropriate regulatory and compliance policies. Direct experience with US Patent software processes.. Other Skills and Competencies:. Product or business management experience with evidence of ability to articulate alternative points of view and gain support on a path forward.. Experience in establishing and applying best practices in governance, benchmarking, portfolio management.. Reports to VP of Digital Innovation and Transformation. Oversight for building and supervising a team of direct reports.. Work with leaders of all organizations that are participants in the digital portfolio (including Digital Analytics and Insights, IT).
