Investment Product Consultant CRIA Platform 2 Positions

Job Description

This position is within the MML Investors Services Broker Dealer MMLIS in the Product Department. This Product Department of MMLIS is responsible for product management, relationship management & implementation of Broker Dealer product lines including Mutual Funds, Brokerage Products, Variable Annuities and a full suite of Advisory Products and Platforms through the MMLIS Corporate Registered Investment Advisor CRIA.

This position will support the CRIA Wealth Management Services (WMS) platform and its functionality including both with internal procedures and interfacing with Envestnet, Advisor 360 & Fidelity Custody and Clearing. WMS is our exclusive fee based advisory platform and an area of strategic focus for the firm. A successful candidate must be able to identify opportunities to increase the ease of doing business on the WMS platform as well as to troubleshoot and resolve issues. Experience in platform management, service enhancements, system coordination and the drive to improve productivity are key. Attention to detail and the ability to problem solve, collaborate and manage projects to successful implementation are critical tosuccess in this role.

Product Consultants are the main point of contact and subject matter experts for product lines and their responsibilities include; research and assessment project planning skills, field communications, creation of program policies and accompanying product manuals.

Responsibilities will also include providing product & platfform expertise and acting as a point of escalation to the operations team, sales consultants and investment advisor representatives in the field by discussing program features, service enhancments, and system navigation.

This is a fast paced team with vast responsibilities and a heavy workload. The ability to prioritize, collaborate and think critically are key.

Principal Responsibilities

The role requires a working knowledge of the Investment Advisory business as well asthe functionality of the MMLIS Wealth Management Platform. Much of the work that is done in this role requires an understanding of the technology platforms that support both Investment Advisory business and Clearing and Custody operations. This role will work as part of team tasked with further developing the advisory platform and its features and be responsible to get these initiatives completed and communicated. Examples of initiatives could be; streamlining billing, client reporting, asset classification, program mergers, improving system productivity, creating product training, writing program manuals, compiling securities lists and solving complex issues.

Knowledge/Skills/Compentancies

  • Deep working knowledge of Investment Advisory and Broker Dealer Products and the overall financial service industry
  • Project Management experience
  • Strong analytic & research skills
  • Typical Experience: Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience. 8 yrs.+ relevant experience
  • Series 7 required. Series 66 & 24 preferred (or willingness to obtain)
  • Advanced Education/Industry designations or in pursuit of a plus
