Job Description

Position Description:

The HCP Business Development Manager will focus on developing the life cycle of relationship management with healthcare companies with specific emphasis on healthcare verticals including: DME, Pharmacy, Mobility, Device, Home Healthcare, and Technology, as well as select pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. This individual will be responsible for implementing a development strategy that will grow revenue and partnership opportunities from specific accounts and companies. The successful individual will cultivate and grow on-going relationships and engagements with healthcare companies to continually expand MDA's footprint within these organizations. Critical to this position is the ability to execute engagement and account management strategies, communicate effectively and convincingly with a broad range of key stakeholders (sponsors, decision makers, colleagues, field leaders, internal and external teams), and deliver results consistent with established development and account management plans, and think and work innovatively. This individual is also responsible for revenue generation through digital and print advertising sales of MDA's Quest magazine and MDA.org/Quest. This individual will have strong competencies in consultative selling and equally strong abilities to pitch, propose, negotiate, and close new business opportunities. This position reports directly to the Senior Director, HCP and works closely with the SVP, Healthcare Partnerships and the Project Specialist is flexible in regards to where it will work from. This position will also work closely with the field development teams and signature event funding opportunities.

Responsibilities:

* Implement and manage a proactive sponsorship development plan focused on establishing, expanding and enhancing corporate healthcare

partnerships with key companies and targeted verticals by obtaining 6 and 7 figure funding and support opportunities.
* Work quickly to enact business plans which will require active collaboration with the scientific, mission/care, healthcare communications,

community and fundraising teams at MDA.
* Approach new and existing account development strategies fearlessly focused on growth.
* Manage overall partnerships with key accounts, ensuring that all deliverables are met and that the company is focused on growth and aware of all MDA funding and collaboration opportunities.
* Utilize salesforce.org to manage development forecasts and actual performance.
* For specific verticals identify industry opportunities, meetings, trade shows, and other ways to gain access to and develop

relationships with key stakeholders.
* Implement strategies to increase advertising sales and support for MDA's print and digital advertising opportunities via Quest

magazine and mda.org/quest.
* Manage overall partnerships with key healthcare companies to ensure maintenance and growth of relationships to generate new sponsorship and funding opportunities, renew or expand existing opportunities, and remain top of mind with all key pharma and biotech sponsors.
* Utilize salesforce.org to manage development forecasts and actual performance.
* Implement market intelligence around future healthcare verticals to pursue for relationship building and eventual sponsorship. These

verticals include: DME, Pharmacy, Mobility, Device, Home Healthcare, and Technology.
* Maintain and develop a close working relationship with MDA's field development teams including coordination around implementation of support.
* Demonstrate resiliency and a willingness to try new tactics based on the needs of MDA and prospective partners.
* Coordinate internal and external resources to optimize opportunities for partnerships.
* Maintain the highest level of communication and cooperation while building long-term relationships.
* Build long term relationships with key partners through honest, ethical behavior that display and are consistent with MDA values.
* Quickly identify obstacles and implement mitigation solutions to advance sponsorship and funding opportunities.
* Utilize industry intelligence and competitive analysis techniques to continually assess MDA needs and areas for improvement in its management of healthcare partnerships.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

* 5-8+ years demonstrated successful business development and account management experience
* Experience fundraising for non-profit or charitable organizations; grant writing capability also highly desirable
* Prior experience in corporate social responsibility and corporate philanthropy
* Familiarity with not-for-profit associations and foundations in the neuromuscular disease space, a plus.
* Experience with solutions selling and consultative sales approaches; strong track record of meeting and exceeding annual bookings and revenue generation plans.
* Medical education or advertising background, a plus.
* Strong written, oral and interpersonal communications skills and political acumen to establish and maintain good working relationships within all organizational levels and with outside constituencies.
* Strong skills to meet predetermined goals and objectives.
* Extensive knowledge of saleforce.org to capture and manage against sales forecast; strong analytic and reporting skills a plus.
* Significant strategic planning experience and ability to conceive, design, implement, evaluate and manage account programs and strategies.
* Excellent analytical, critical thinking, problem solving, negotiation and marketing skills.
* Must be comfortable working with internal leaders and external senior corporate executives.
* Superior oral communications skills to establish personal contacts, gather information, present ideas, determine level of interest, develop networks, and promote an understanding of MDA's programs and policies.
