Position: Assistant Vice President (New York, New York)
Duties: Work on major strategic initiatives to support the enterprise, key business segments and functions. Support the assessment and development of strategic opportunities, business plans, market research and analysis of operational plans to further enterprise and regional/LOB operations. Build/partner with key senior executives to develop customer-focused strategies and solutions, including targeted or differentiated customer value propositions. Manage proprietary customer research efforts where necessary or relevant. Work closely with key senior executives within the organization to drive execution of strategies, influence profit and loss (P&L) and operational decisions, and participate in various strategic and operational matters, including competitive repositioning and operating strategy. Complete analyses such as cost projections, feasibility studies, benchmark comparisons, return on investment (ROI) analyses. Develop recommendations for senior management s review. Provide oversight to assigned team s budget and expense management functions, including the development of operational budgets, analysis of budget variances, preparation of financial forecasts and research and implementation of cost savings measures. Manage coordination of the enterprise strategic planning process, with the objectives of optimizing capital allocation and strategic priorities alignment. Coordinate the execution of the team s strategic initiatives and provide daily support and management of key activities for the team s leader. Act as a point of contact between senior management and the group as well as other stakeholders. Develop strategy and leadership communication, training and internal PR on behalf of the team leader and/or research in support of external engagements such as those for the company s Board of Directors, Executive Group, Senior Management and larger groups of employees, including frontline associates.
Requirements: Master of Business Administration degree (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) and two (2) years of experience leading business and functional priorities in a global (U.S., Asia, EMEA and Latin America), highly matrixed life insurance company with Business-to-Business (B2B) and Business-to-Customer (B2C) operations. Must possess the following: performing strategy development at the enterprise and regional/line of business (LOB) level, including assessing and developing new products and solutions leveraging proprietary customer insights, evaluating and prioritizing market entries or exits, strategic planning and guidance, and capital allocation decision-making support (1 year); performing strategy execution at the enterprise and regional/LOB level, including tracking initiatives performance against goals, analyzing business metrics (including embedded value) and their drivers to address concerns or opportunities, managing risks and gaps during strategy execution, providing continuous strategic planning and execution support to internal and external business partners, and increasing operational efficiency through process improvements (1 year); and developing strategy-focused communications at the enterprise level, including authoring, drafting and editing memos and opportunity/investment recommendations for the Board and Executive Management on topics like strategic partnerships, divestitures, strategy refreshes, and capital allocation; and building internal PR to improve employee engagement and best practice sharing (1 year).
